James Howells is the man who became famous for accidentally throwing a hard drive containing 8,000 Bitcoins into a landfill in 2013. Since then, he has repeatedly applied for permission to excavate the Newport landfill but has been repeatedly refused.
When rumors surfaced that he had quit, Howells denied them on social media. He said he had just sent an offer to buy the landfill for $33 to $40 million but had not received a response.
To raise funds, Howells plans to issue a token based on Ordinals, representing 21% of the lost Bitcoin wallet value. He insists he has never relinquished his legal ownership, which was confirmed by the UK Supreme Court earlier this year. His new plan is to tokenize ownership into Ceiniog Coin (INI), based on the upcoming Bitcoin update.
The project is expected to launch its ICO later this year, aiming to build a high-speed and secure web3 ecosystem. Dear readers, please watch more videos : From January 1, 2026, digital products created by AI must have identification marks | Nhan Dan Newspaper
