Implementing the plan of the Ministry of Public Security, Nghe An Provincial Police simultaneously launched a peak period of inspection and handling of alcohol concentration violations throughout the area. Working groups were deployed across key routes and areas, focusing on controlling during the noon and evening hours - the time when many violations often occur.

Thereby, resolutely and strictly handle acts of using alcohol and beer while driving, contributing to ensuring order, traffic safety and accident prevention.

These days, on all the streets of the central wards, or along the national highways through Nghe An , traffic police teams are deployed on all key routes; especially in areas near restaurants and pubs - places with high potential risks of traffic accidents. To promote the effectiveness of the force, it is arranged to combine control at fixed checkpoints and mobile patrols, in order to promptly detect and prevent acts of turning around and avoiding inspection by the authorities.

Drivers are allowed to stop their vehicles for alcohol testing in accordance with procedures, openly and transparently. Many cases when checked have admitted to the violation, claiming that they “only had a few drinks and went a short distance”.

After launching a peak period of checking and handling alcohol concentration violations from October 18, in the first 3 days of the campaign, the Traffic Police force of Nghe An Provincial Police closely coordinated with the Commune and Ward Police across the area to record administrative violations for 490 cases of violations, including 13 cars, 370 motorbikes, 4 other vehicles, collecting nearly 2 billion VND for the budget. At the same time, the driving licenses of 33 violators were revoked.

According to statistics from the authorities, in Nghe An, on average, each year there are hundreds of traffic accidents related to alcohol and beer. Behind the numbers are the losses, the tears of relatives, and the late regrets of violators. Therefore, strict handling is not only a deterrent, but also a measure to protect traffic participants and the happiness of each family.

According to the announced plan, the working groups will continue to maintain inspection activities during two main time frames: from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 22:00, which are the times when alcohol consumption while driving often occurs.

In addition to inspection and handling of violations, Nghe An Provincial Police also strengthen propaganda and dissemination of laws on traffic safety and order in many diverse and practical forms. Through the loudspeaker system, social networks, mobile propaganda sessions in residential areas, schools, agencies, businesses, etc., the message "If you drink alcohol, beer - do not drive" is widely spread to every citizen.

Traffic police and police of communes and wards also directly go to each household and food service business to encourage people to strictly follow the regulation "Do not drive after drinking alcohol". At the same time, they distribute propaganda leaflets to diners, post banners with slogans "Do not drive after drinking alcohol" in easy-to-see locations, reminding diners to raise awareness when participating in traffic.

Everyone has their own reasons for drinking a few beers or glasses of wine to have fun and to share. But sometimes, just one decision to drive after that fun turns the joy into irreparable pain. Therefore, "If you drink alcohol - do not drive", each person needs to raise awareness, understand the consequences of using alcohol, and contribute to building a safe and civilized traffic environment.

According to statistics from the Thai Nguyen Traffic Police Department, in the first three days of implementation (from October 18 to 20, 2025), the functional forces of the whole province detected and handled 576 cases of violations of regulations on alcohol concentration, specifically: 166 cases on October 18, 212 cases on October 19 and 198 cases on October 20; temporarily detained 576 vehicles (525 motorbikes, 12 trucks, 39 cars).

Working groups are deployed in many key locations such as restaurants, eateries, bars, entertainment areas, industrial parks, national highways and inner-city routes. All violations related to alcohol concentration are recorded, recorded, vehicles and driving licenses are temporarily seized and strictly handled according to regulations, ensuring "no restricted areas, no exceptions".

The first three days of the general alcohol concentration control campaign have shown a strong and serious spirit, demonstrating high determination and synchronization in strictly implementing the orders of the Director of the Traffic Police Department, which is a regular, continuous and non-stop work.

In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to preside over and coordinate with functional forces to resolutely and synchronously deploy professional measures, increase patrols and control on key routes and areas, strictly handle violations of alcohol concentration, and at the same time promote propaganda work so that traffic participants voluntarily comply with the law, forming a culture of safe and civilized traffic with the message "If you drink alcohol, do not drive", contributing to reducing traffic accidents caused by alcohol use.
