Senne Lammens was outstanding in Man Utd's 2-1 win over Liverpool on the evening of October 19. The 23-year-old goalkeeper made many impressive saves to help the visitors avoid many obvious goals, and he was voted Man of the Match - a worthy reward for his impressive performance at Anfield.
The Belgian, who joined the Red Devils on deadline day from Royal Antwerp, has started just two games for United, both of which he excelled in. Lammens kept a clean sheet in the home win over Sunderland and continued his impressive form in the historic win over Liverpool at Anfield – United’s first win at the ground in nine years.

Asked about the pressure from outside, Lammens said after the match: “Yes, I try my best. I think I am quite good at it, trying to block out the noise from outside. I just prepare the way I always do, treating the Liverpool game like any other game. Of course, we have to be realistic. This game is not like any other game, but I still try to prepare in the same way.”
He also praised the team's game plan: “With the game plan that we had, I think the team executed it quite well. We knew in advance that the game would be difficult, and we had to defend with all 11 players. We did it, so it was a really good game.”
On the biggest change since moving to Old Trafford, Lammens revealed: “I think my social media has blown up, but they told me before the transfer happened. I knew a little about it, but it feels great to get the praise. Along with the win, it’s a really special feeling.”
Lammens has emerged as United's No. 1 goalkeeper with Andre Onana moving on loan to Trabzonspor and Altay Bayindir struggling to establish himself on the pitch, and he believes recent positive results show Ruben Amorim's side are on the right track.

“It’s been 10 seasons since we last won here, so it’s special. Plus, two wins in a row is something we’re looking for to build momentum,” said Lammens when asked if victory at Anfield was a turning point for the team.
“I think that’s a big part of what the manager has shown us this season. There have been a lot of disappointments throughout the season, but I think this can be the start of a good period of progress. We need to keep that spirit going into next week’s home game, with the fans behind us, and we have to try to win,” he concluded.
After the victory over Liverpool, Man Utd has won two consecutive victories for the first time under coach Amorim in the Premier League. The "Red Devils" have risen to 9th place with 13 points, only 6 points behind the leader Arsenal after 8 rounds. The gap between Man Utd and the Top 4 is only two points, which brings great hope for the rise of the "Red Devils". In the next round, Man Utd will play Brighton on October 23.
