Although still young, with careful preparation, the representatives of Vietnamese Taekwondo are ready to enter the big challenge at the continental arena.
Vietnam Taekwondo brings youthful aspirations to the 3rd Asian Youth Games
The Asian Youth Games is an important playground, acting as a measure to evaluate the quality of training and investment in the successor force of each country. Realizing this, in recent times, Vietnamese Sports in general, and Taekwondo in particular, have made continuous efforts to build a team of potential young athletes.
The Taekwondo team participating in AYG3 this time is all young faces, participating for the first time in a major continental Games. After a thorough training process at the centers, the four most representative faces were selected: Le Phan Tuan Kiet, Tran Ho Nhan Van, Hoang Thi Thu Huyen and Bui Mai Phuong.
Although it is a youth tournament, this is also an opportunity for athletes to gain more experience, and for experts to select the most potential factors. Therefore, each member of the delegation clearly showed great determination.
Four representatives of Vietnam Taekwondo will compete at AYG3
The Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in AYG3 has 75 members, including 50 athletes competing in 11 sports. In addition to Taekwondo, Vietnam also expects medals in Jujitsu, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Athletics. Historically, Vietnam won 5 gold medals at the 2nd Games in 2013, with strong marks from talents such as swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien and tennis player Ly Hoang Nam.
Vietnamese Taekwondo representatives will officially compete at the Congress on October 23.
