• Project 8 Summary Conference: Promoting gender equality in ethnic minority and mountainous areas
  • Spreading the message of gender equality and preventing domestic violence

Ca Mau Provincial Women's Union deploys propaganda skills content in Ho Thi Ky commune.

Through the training courses, media teams and people are equipped with legal knowledge on gender equality, skills to identify and handle domestic violence situations, and methods to approach and support victims appropriate to local realities. The content is conveyed vividly, easy to understand, easy to remember, helping trainees to apply immediately in community activities.

Ethnic minority people listen to instructions on gender equality and domestic violence prevention.

Mr. Tran Quoc Viet, Head of the Duong Dao Hamlet Communications Team, shared: “Through the training session, I learned many close and easy-to-apply propaganda methods. I will apply them in public meetings to contribute to raising awareness of gender equality, preventing domestic violence, and helping the community become more united and civilized.”

Also participating in the training, Mr. Nguyen Trong Yem, a member of the Community Communications Team in Duong Dao Hamlet, Ho Thi Ky Commune , said: “In the past, when I met couples in conflict, I only knew how to give general advice. After the class, I better understood how to listen and support them so that they could confidently share and find positive solutions.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Tam, Head of the Community Communications Team of Hamlet 1, An Xuyen Ward, chaired the team's first communications session.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Tam, Head of the Community Communication Team of Hamlet 1, An Xuyen Ward, said: “After being trained, we immediately organized small communication sessions in the hamlet, integrated into the activities of the People's Group. People were very excited to participate because the content was close and easy to understand. When approached properly, they are willing to share and change their perceptions, contributing to limiting domestic violence right from the grassroots level.”

Women members actively participated in answering questions at the meeting.

According to Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Women's Union of Ca Mau province, last September, the Union organized 8 training courses on propaganda skills to prevent and combat domestic violence and gender equality in communes implementing Project 8.

Our goal is not only to provide knowledge, but also to build a core team of propagandists at the grassroots level. Each cadre, member and citizen will be an active propagandist, together building a safe, equal and happy living environment for women and children, especially in ethnic minority areas,” Ms. To Thi My Thuan emphasized.
