Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh led the delegation, accompanied and attended by local Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism businesses, professional associations, airlines, press agencies and performing artists.
Exploiting the potential of the Chinese market
This is a key promotion activity, concretizing Resolution No. 226/NQ-CP dated August 5, 2025 of the Government on growth targets for industries, fields, localities and key tasks and solutions to ensure the country's growth in 2025 reaches 8.3 - 8.5% and Official Dispatch No. 34/CD-TTg dated April 10, 2025 of the Prime Minister on promoting tourism development, ensuring double-digit economic growth; contributing to the target of welcoming international visitors in 2025; at the same time responding to the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
As two neighboring countries with many cultural similarities and close geographical locations, Vietnam and China maintain close tourism cooperation at both central and local levels, along with a flexible system of direct and charter flights. China used to account for 40% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam (5.8 million in 2019), but by 2024 this number will reach 3.7 million, ranking second among the markets sending visitors to Vietnam, a potential that is still very large compared to the overall size of the Chinese outbound market.
The organization of the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program in China in 2025 is expected to create a special resonance effect, continuing to spread the image of the country, people, culture and tourism of Vietnam to the Chinese public, contributing to the goal of increasing international visitors and strengthening national soft power in the new period.
Bustling chain of promotional activities, trade, tourism connection
Within the framework of the event, there will be many exciting activities, including a business-to-business (B2B) meeting and connection program to create opportunities for travel businesses, hotels, resorts, conference centers, and airlines of the two countries to meet, exchange, cooperate, sign and expand partnerships.
The highlight is the Vietnam Tourism Introduction Program with the main content of introducing new tourist visa policies, outstanding products and destinations, Vietnam's tourism infrastructure, stimulus programs, marketing orientation for the Chinese market; Introducing policies and aviation networks between the two countries, preferential product packages; Lucky draw (air tickets, tours, resort vouchers) sponsored by Vietnamese localities and businesses.
In addition, the program also brings Chinese friends unique cultural experiences through traditional and modern art performances, helping the Chinese public better understand the cultural identity of Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will also organize meetings and work with Chinese tourism management agencies, associations, airlines, major tourism businesses and marketing partners to enhance cooperation, expand aviation connections and promote joint promotion between the two countries.
Spread the message "Vietnam - Endless beauty - Authentic experience, Living with green heritage"
The program aims to renew the image of Vietnamese tourism with the message: "Vietnam - Endless beauty - Authentic experience, Living with green heritage", thereby affirming that Vietnam is a friendly, attractive destination and has the ability to meet the diverse needs of Chinese tourists.
Vietnam tourism promotion activities in Beijing, Chongqing and Chengdu are expected to create a leap in quantity and quality for the Chinese market to Vietnam, not only increasing the number of visitors by at least 20-30% in 2025 but also restructuring the flow of visitors towards high value (MICE, golf, wellness, high-end experiences).
Through the B2B chain - introducing destinations, business parties, and synchronized communications, the program will expand the aviation connection axis, reinforce the "tourism corridors" between major/secondary cities of China and Vietnamese tourism centers, thereby extending the length of stay, increasing average spending, and stimulating investment in infrastructure and services.
At the national level, this is an activity to promote the national brand of Vietnamese tourism, contributing to realizing the goal of welcoming international visitors, improving tourism competitiveness rankings, and enhancing exchanges in the Vietnam - China Cultural Exchange Year 2025.
At the same time, the program is a launching pad for public-private partnerships in promotion, for digital transformation of destination marketing on Chinese platforms, and for long-term cooperation in products, routes, and communications, thereby bringing Vietnam back to the top market group of Chinese tourists with sustainable and effective growth components and the ability to spread the economy widely.
