Woman dies after collision with passenger bus, dragged 20 meters

(NLDO) - A woman died after colliding with a Hung Long passenger bus on National Highway 1 through Quang Binh , causing traffic congestion for many hours.

On the evening of February 3, the People's Committee of Quang Xuan Commune, Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province - said that a serious traffic accident had just occurred on National Highway 1 passing through the area, causing the death of a woman.

According to initial information, at about 3:30 p.m. the same day, the HL passenger bus with license plate number 29K-00xxx was traveling in the North-South direction on National Highway 1. When reaching Thanh Luong village, Quang Xuan commune, Quang Trach district, the passenger bus collided with a woman crossing the road (identity unknown) who was moving on the road.

The collision was so strong that the victim died on the spot. Many witnesses at the scene said the incident happened very quickly, the victim was caught under the bus and dragged for more than 20 meters.

Immediately after receiving the news, the authorities were present at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. Quang Trach District Police and related units conducted an investigation of the scene, took witness statements and regulated traffic.

The accident caused a 2km traffic jam on Highway 1. Many vehicles were stuck, making it difficult for vehicles to move through the area.

At about 5:00 p.m., after completing the initial handling work, traffic on National Highway 1 gradually returned to normal.

Traffic was congested for many hours after the accident.
