This year, the Grand Prize - For the Love of Hanoi was awarded to musician Tran Tien, who has left a special mark in contemporary Vietnamese music . Famous songs such as: Red River Improvisation, Street Improvisation, Poor Street, Little Sun, Hometown, have become a stream of memories, depicting a Hanoi that is both familiar and imbued with culture.
In the Works category, two official awards were given to artist Pham Binh Chuong for the exhibition “Xuong pho”, marking 20 years of painting Hanoi with all his love for the streets, and the musical “Lua tu dat” of the Vietnam Youth Theatre, an epic depicting the image of Party Secretary Nguyen Ngoc Vu, thereby depicting the revolutionary aspirations of Hanoi in the 1930s.

Meanwhile, the Job Award went to the National Exhibition and Fair Center, a project constructed in record time, inspired by the image of the Golden Turtle, expected to become a "new wonder" of the Capital, attracting tens of millions of visitors.
In the Idea category, the award honored the project to build the Hanoi Opera House and the cultural and artistic park in Quang An (Tay Ho), designed by architect Renzo Piano, aiming to create an international cultural icon for Hanoi.
In this year's season, one of the special highlights is the series of lacquer paintings by young artist Chu Nhat Quang through the exhibitions "Sacred Mark" and "Independence Spring". At the age of over 20, Quang has created a record-sized lacquer work depicting President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the nation, while recreating Hanoi associated with historical springs, with the sacred mark of independence. Lacquer, a material that is inherently traditional and challenging, has been thoroughly exploited by Quang with layers of lacquer, eggshell, gold and silver, creating depth and magical light.
His works are not only paintings, but also carry symbolic value when combining traditional fine arts and contemporary creative spirit, recalling historical memories, while enriching the cultural appearance of Hanoi today.

Journalist Tran Mai Huong, former General Director of Vietnam News Agency, assessed that the Bui Xuan Phai - For the Love of Hanoi Award has great significance, honoring individuals and groups that preserve and promote the capital's culture. The award creates resonance, reminds the community of the love for Hanoi, and contributes to building urban culture. The authors who have been awarded the award in recent years are all worthy.
This year, the nominations are all outstanding, including photographic works, urban renovation ideas, and appreciation for the spirit, respect, and sense of responsibility of the young generation in continuing Hanoi's culture. "I am quite impressed with Chu Nhat Quang's large-scale lacquer painting. I see a young artist who is so devoted to the country, dedicating his efforts to creating the image of the country's leader and the beauty of Hanoi, which is very admirable. It is those people who will continue the beauty of traditional culture and continue to develop Hanoi's culture," journalist Tran Mai Huong affirmed.
Meanwhile, journalist Nguyen Thien Thuat, Editor-in-Chief of Sports and Culture Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee, member of the Jury, shared: This year, there were more than 60 nominated works, selected and only 11 works won the prize. The Jury faced difficulties due to the high quality of nominations, many works associated with historical events such as: 50 years of Southern Liberation, 80 years of the founding of the country. Some outstanding works include: National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh - a work completed in 15 months, welcoming tens of millions of visitors, or the project to clear the To Lich River.
Outstanding individual contributions include musician Tran Tien, who despite his poor health still composed for Hanoi. In addition, this year's award has a number of young authors. Notably, there is a lacquer painting about Uncle Ho by Chu Nhat Quang, over 20 years old, a record-breaking large lacquer painting about beloved Uncle Ho, expressing the spirit of tradition and patriotism. Despite the high cost of creation, young artists still invested, showing a sense of responsibility and strong influence in the community.

After 18 seasons, the Bui Xuan Phai Award has become one of the most prestigious cultural events, affirming the enduring vitality of the love for Hanoi in artistic creation and social life. Not only honoring veteran artists such as musician Tran Tien, the award also opens the door for the younger generation like Chu Nhat Quang to enter, continuing the journey of preserving and enriching the culture of the capital.
Hanoi, through music, painting, theater, and architecture, remains an endless source where tradition and modernity blend together, creating a unique and unmistakable identity. And the Bui Xuan Phai Award is a living testament to the extension of that memory stream, through each year, each work, each person.
