Many cooperatives have not yet converted according to the Law on Cooperatives 2023

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of July 9, Inspection and Supervision Team No. 3 (referred to as the Inspection Team) of Thanh Hoa Province Cooperative Union held a conference to review the work of inspecting and supervising cooperative activities according to the 2023 Law on Cooperatives and deploy and disseminate a number of policies on collective economic development.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Tax Department of Region X and representatives of cooperatives in the province.

Based on the functions and tasks, the inspection team conducted inspections and supervision at 50 cooperatives. The inspection content focused on the implementation of conversion and reorganization of cooperatives according to the 2023 Law on Cooperatives; the operation situation of cooperative members; organization of the operating apparatus and accounting work according to Circular No. 71/2024/TT-BTC, dated October 7, 2024 of the Ministry of Finance on guidance on the accounting regime of cooperatives and cooperative unions.

In the inspection area of ​​Working Group No. III, there are 562 active cooperatives, accounting for 41.2% of the total number of cooperatives in the province. Through inspection and supervision at 50 cooperatives, it was found that most cooperatives have not yet converted according to the Law on Cooperatives 2023; the cooperatives have organized a system of official members and associate members contributing capital and strictly complied with regulations on the number of members, organization of cooperative apparatus, built charters, production and business plans and fund allocation...

At the conference, delegates also pointed out some shortcomings, such as some localities not yet clearly recognizing the role of cooperatives in local socio-economic development; many cooperatives still face difficulties in using tax codes, re-issuing tax codes...
