Dr. Nguyen Manh Tien, Department of Lower Limb Surgery, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, said that from the 29th of Tet until now, the hospital has received 22 accidents related to firecrackers. The patients are mainly young children, with injuries to their dominant hands. Many children cannot be treated conservatively due to severe injuries, and have to have their fingers amputated, or even have their right hand completely removed.
