Looking back at the highest yielding rice crop in Hai Duong over the past 13 years

As of June 28, according to the provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, Hai Duong has basically completed the harvest of the 2024-2025 winter-spring rice crop, with an estimated yield of 67.52 quintals/ha, 2.52 quintals/ha higher than the set target. Since 2012, that is, 13 years have passed, this is the winter-spring rice crop with the highest yield.

On February 1, right after the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025, farmers in all localities in Hai Duong province simultaneously went to the fields to sow the winter-spring rice crop of 2024 - 2025. The province's plan is to strive to sow 53,000 hectares, mainly late spring tea with high-quality rice varieties and hybrid rice.

Rice transplanters are used by farmers in many places in the province to speed up the planting season.

As a result, the whole province planted 53,261 hectares within the allowed time frame, of which about 15% of the area was planted by machine. This season, the water source for production is basically abundant and less polluted than in previous years. The drought that occurred in Binh Giang from the winter-spring crop of 2023 - 2024 has not recurred.

Compared to the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, the 2024-2025 winter-spring rice crop has fewer harmful pests and diseases. Rice teas and rice varieties bloom well, with large, long flowers and a lower percentage of empty grains than previous years, promising high yields.

In mid-May, the golden season gradually appeared across the fields in Hai Duong.

Mechanization is applied by Hai Duong farmers in almost all stages of rice harvesting. Farmers just need to bring cars and motorbikes to transport rice.

In some districts such as Kim Thanh, Binh Giang, Cam Giang, rice yield is estimated at 69 - 71.5 quintals/ha. Rice varieties with high yield this crop include Q5, TBR 225, Thien Uu, Nep Huong Binh... Farmers sell fresh rice in the field for 7,500 - 10,500 VND/kg, depending on the type.

Many farmers in the province borrowed or rented fields to plant "one area, one variety, one time" and had a big success this rice crop.
