Each passenger had a reason but all were in a hurry to catch the last bus home to reunite.

Dang Minh Thao (born in 1983) and her husband work in the service industry, so they went to the bus station to return home at the last minute. Thao emotionally shared: "I thought there would be no more buses to return home, but thanks to the staff and drivers, we were able to return home in time to reunite with our families."

Sitting next to him, Mai Trung Hau (born in 1987) and Le Trung Hieu (born in 1985) were equally busy. They just wanted to quickly get home to have a New Year's Eve dinner with their loved ones.

In particular, Mr. Pham Quang Binh (born in 1999), an athlete who had just recovered from an illness, also got on the bus with a bright look in his eyes. Although tired, he shared that returning home to celebrate Tet was an incomparable joy.

The couple Nguyen The Anh (born in 1990) and Bui Thi Ly (born in 1994) work in the pharmaceutical industry, and this was the first time they experienced the feeling of getting on a bus so late. Ly said: “I thought I wouldn’t be able to go home to celebrate Tet with my family, but this bus trip was like a lucky gift. This will be a memorable memory for my husband and I!”

Driver Nguyen Quang Hoa, who operated the bus, said that even though it was the last trip, he and the staff at the station tried to stay a little longer so that people could return home in time for Tet.

"Seeing them happy makes us feel our Tet more complete," said Mr. Hoa.

Mr. Nguyen Mai Loc, an employee of the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center, said that although he is the only child in the family and is from Bac Giang province, he stays in Hanoi to work, working with the on-duty team to monitor and check the operating software of the bus system in operation. When there is a problem, he will notify the specialized forces to quickly fix it, ensuring to meet the travel needs of the people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, a security officer on the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line, volunteered to be on duty on the afternoon of the 29th of Tet this year. The number of passengers in the morning and afternoon was not as high as usual, but they were all very special guests.

“Some people are rushing back to their hometowns with their belongings to then continue connecting flights to different destinations. But there are also families who seem to be taking advantage of their days off to visit Hanoi,” said Mr. Lam.

In order to encourage workers as well as inspect the preparation for Tet, this morning, the leaders of the Hanoi Department of Transport and the Board of Directors of Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. visited and encouraged officers and employees working on the two urban railway lines No. 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong and No. 3, Nhon - Cau Giay section.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. Khuat Viet Hung said that the Lunar New Year 2025 is the first year the unit has implemented a train operation plan to serve the people of the capital until after New Year's Eve.

On behalf of the company's leadership, Mr. Hung sent his sincere thanks to all officers and employees, especially those on duty during the final moments of the year.

“With that spirit of Hanoi urban railway, represented by the Hanoi Metro collective, we are creating a more beautiful image of public passenger transport in the capital, closer to the people. On January 27 (ie 28th day of Lunar New Year), the route opens at 5:30 am and closes at 10 pm. From 5:30 am to 8:30 pm, the train runs every 10 minutes; from 8:30 pm to 10 pm, the train runs every 15 minutes.

In particular, on January 28 (ie the 29th day of the Lunar New Year), the route opens at 5:30 a.m. and closes at 2:00 a.m. the following morning. From 5:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the train runs every 10 minutes; from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following morning, the train runs every 15 minutes.

On January 30 (the second day of Tet), the route opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. From 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the train runs every 10 minutes; from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the train runs every 15 minutes.

On January 31 (the 3rd day of Tet), the route opens at 6am and closes at 10pm. From 6am to 8pm, trains run every 10 minutes; from 8pm to 10pm, trains run every 15 minutes.

On February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), the route opens at 5:30 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. From 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., trains run every 10 minutes; from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., trains run every 15 minutes.

Apart from the above days, the two urban railway lines operate according to the normal daily schedule.

In particular, for route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong, the days before January 26 (27th of Tet) and the days after February 1 (4th of Tet), the train runs from 5:30 to 22:00, every 10 minutes between trips, and 6 minutes between rush hours. On Saturdays and Sundays, the train runs from 5:30 to 22:00, every 10 minutes between trips.

For the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station route, the days before January 26 (27th of Tet) and the days after February 1 (4th of Tet), the train runs from 5:30 to 22:00, every 10 minutes/trip, and every 6 minutes/trip during peak hours on weekdays. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the train runs from 5:30 to 22:00, every 10 minutes/trip.
