Apartment building management: A profession that has no concept of "Tet holiday"
While everyone is eagerly celebrating Tet and enjoying a long holiday with their families, those working in the field of apartment building management are still busy with work.
Dedicated "butlers"
On the days before Tet, the entire apartment complex is bathed in a gentle yellow light, like a giant candle lit in the middle of a bustling city. In each apartment, the windows are lit, the sound of laughter and chatter mixed with the fragrant smell of banh chung and braised pork makes the atmosphere warmer. Children chatter and show off their new clothes, adults gather around the dinner table, telling each other stories of the past year. A beautiful picture of Tet, simple but fulfilling.
But if you look more closely, in the dark corners of the basement or the windless corridors, you will see the silent figures still working hard. They are the security guards, the janitors, the technicians on duty all night. Their Tet is not about spending time with their families, but about their dedication to keeping everything in the apartment building running smoothly, so that residents can celebrate Tet with peace of mind.

Mr. Hung, a technician, was busy all day checking the electrical system and fixing the broken pump in the basement. He sat panting in the small, narrow room of the control room. He smiled and said: “On Tet holiday, the work is three times busier than usual. But when I hear residents thank me for the timely handling, all my fatigue disappears.”
Then he slowly said: “It’s just a pity that I can’t go home for Tet. Every year, I’m away from home all year, just looking forward to Tet when I can come home to have a meal with my wife and children. My wife said the two children keep asking when their father will come back, it’s heartbreaking to hear.” His eyes suddenly darkened, but then lit up again: “Well, let’s contribute a little bit so that the residents can have a peaceful Tet, it can be considered a consolation.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Lan, a cleaning staff, is taking care of every corner of the main lobby floor. Her cleaning steps are gentle but full of responsibility. She smiles, sweat beading on her forehead: “On Tet, there is twice as much trash. Fruit, gift wrapping paper, firecracker shells... It takes forever to finish. But thinking about the residents walking out and seeing the lobby clean and beautiful, I think it is worth it.”
Pausing for a moment, she said sadly, “To be honest, I miss home a lot. My daughter is studying far away and can’t come home for Tet. I’m always busy and can’t visit my mother in the countryside. Sometimes I feel sad when I see people gathering together. But I’m used to this job, and I’m happy because I can do meaningful work for everyone.”
Both Mr. Hung and Ms. Lan have their own worries and simple desires for reunion. But they choose to sacrifice and silently contribute to keep the apartment building a full and peaceful Tet season.
Workers are not alone
The apartment building management board is like a silent “conductor”, keeping everything running smoothly. They maintain the technical system, keep the environment clean, handle unexpected incidents, and ensure security and order. These jobs, though silent, are a solid foundation for a peaceful life.
Thanks to them, each resident can enjoy a complete Tet holiday with their family without worrying about complicated issues. They are not only the ones who maintain safety, cleanliness and comfort, but also the invisible thread that connects the community. In the warm Tet picture of the apartment building, they are simple but indispensable colors.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Home Real Estate Management Joint Stock Company said that the end of the year is the time when residents focus on shopping, replacing new equipment, and handling old equipment. Activities in the apartment building become bustling, from decoration, worship, to people preparing to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet... Therefore, the workload increases significantly, accompanied by high pressure and the need for continuous support.
However, these “housekeepers” are not alone. To ensure working spirit, the company always has a policy of timely encouragement, sharing, rewards and incentives. Members of the management board are organized to wish each other a happy new year, receive Tet gifts, and receive a 13th month salary bonus before the holiday to stabilize their lives and help them feel secure in their work.

In addition, the company also encourages employees to arrange their vacation time, arrange personal matters before Tet, and prepare food and necessities for the holidays. Employees on duty during Tet will also receive gifts, meals and be evaluated and rewarded based on their work attitude during this peak period.
Regarding the work organization plan, Mr. Thanh said that the company always ensures that there are staff on duty 24/7 at the apartment building. The shift schedule is arranged in rotation, each person can work one day and take one day off, to ensure health and meet personal rest needs during Tet.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen The Loi - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Saigon Thang Long Group (a business providing management and operation services for buildings, apartments, hotels, etc.) shared that at projects, the security, technical and cleaning departments must be on duty continuously, without time off for Tet.

For these departments, every year, Saigon Thang Long has activities to ensure both spiritual and material factors for employees. Specifically, in addition to receiving salaries according to regulations, the Company will prepare essential foods and special gifts for employees. At the same time, during Tet holidays, the Company's leadership will also directly visit each project to wish Tet and give lucky money to employees.
“In addition to material issues, the spirit of the workers is very important, we always focus on this. That's right. During the holidays, the leadership always takes time to accompany and share with employees, creating connection and not leaving workers lonely,” said Mr. Loi.
