Overnight efforts to clear National Highway 47 to the border commune of Bat Mot

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Prolonged heavy rains have caused National Highway 47, the vital route connecting the lowlands with the border commune of Bat Mot, to be cut off by serious landslides in many locations. The section from Yen Nhan commune to Bat Mot, more than 15km long, has dozens of deep flooding spots, thick mud, and traffic is paralyzed. On the night of August 28, the road management unit mobilized human resources and vehicles to make efforts to clear the road.

To provide relief to people in the border commune of Bat Mot who have been cut off in recent days, forces had to carry food and provisions along the trails to reach the cut-off area.

Because we have not yet reached Bat Mot commune, we have not yet determined the volume of landslides from Yen Nhan commune to Bat Mot commune. Currently, the unit is concentrating large excavators, dividing them into construction teams, clearing and leveling rocks and soil, determined to open the traffic as soon as possible so that forces can access and support Bat Mot residents who suffered damage caused by storms and rains.
