How did Anh Thu feel when conducting an exclusive interview with an influential musical artist like Kenny G? - Since I was a child, I have listened to works like Forever in Love, Songbird or Going Home ... by Kenny G from my family's cassette player. His music helps me feel healed and brings back many memories. Therefore, conducting an exclusive interview with Kenny G is an unforgettable experience for me as well as the production team. Before "G-hour", we had to prepare carefully in every aspect to ensure that no problems would arise. The content was prepared in great detail to be able to exploit the interesting answers of the male artist. Anh Thu's impression of the American artist? - Kenny G is very friendly and straightforward. During the interview, he shared his joy of returning to Vietnam after 8 years and his passion for performing this music night. In particular, what impressed me most about Kenny G was that after the interview ended, he asked for 10 more minutes to learn Vietnamese and chat with the Vietnamese audience. Even though it was the second time facing the world music legend, I was still a bit nervous and worried. But luckily, I got into the rhythm and confidently completed my task. At the end of the show, Kenny G asked me how long I had worked at the station and gave me compliments: "You did a great job, thank you!" which made me very emotional.

MC profession is not "rosy"

Is this profession always "flashy" and "rosy" as many people think? - Certainly not because every profession has its own difficulties. The MC profession is not just a bright and sparkling picture. Behind the stage lights and the cheers of the audience is careful preparation, not a little pressure such as unfavorable weather conditions, the program taking place right when the MC is sick... It is difficult but interesting, I always feel that my profession is suitable for those who love change and surprise.

Any MC needs to have their own style if they want the audience to remember them, so what is Anh Thu's "quality"? - I am a political show host but also a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Foreign Culture, Diplomatic Academy. Perhaps because of the nature of my job as a lecturer, I often come into contact with young people, sometimes I am very serious, mature, elegant but also sometimes playful and youthful. The flexibility in style probably reminds people of a colorful MC Anh Thu. Anh Thu once shared that she used to be a shy, quiet, lonely child, even a victim of school violence. What motivated Thu to change and stick with the "speaking profession" like now? - Before, I hid the story of my experience of school violence because to me, it was a shock. This memory still haunts me to this day. But later, I understood that I was not the only one facing such problems. Many young people out there are also lacking confidence and losing faith in themselves. It seems that the story of the shy, reserved, lonely girl Anh Thu trying to become an MC and BTV like today has inspired and healed many people. I want to use my story to create positive impacts, helping others. That is why I decided to share it with more people. At the time when I lost faith in myself the most, I realized that only by changing, I could continue to live a meaningful life, not just exist. As one of the youngest MCs and News Editors at Nhan Dan Television, does Anh Thu face a lot of pressure? - I have been working at Nhan Dan Television for 6 years. Currently, I am in charge of hosting the International News bulletin, and also holding the position of Editor for these bulletins. Because the news bulletins are broadcast live, the Editors will have to try not to make mistakes, even in the smallest details. This pressure makes me always have to be meticulous, accurate and careful to do my job professionally. Besides, the television profession, especially the news industry, has irregular and unfixed hours. It is very normal to go to work early, come home late and not have days off or holidays. Therefore, balancing time between work, family and other activities was very difficult for me at first. But thanks to this opportunity, I found myself developing communication skills, grasping information quickly and working effectively under pressure. At the same time, family also plays an important role in helping me balance and be confident in myself to overcome difficulties and develop my career.

For Anh Thu, what is the difficulty of a person leading political news bulletins? - Taking on the role of MC, News Editor, especially as one of the young staff at the station, is really a challenge. Because I do not have much experience and experience in the job. To ensure the completion of the task, I always improve my knowledge and skills, especially in the fields of politics , foreign affairs, and the movements in the international news that I undertake. On screen, I always have to be dignified and neat, but behind the scenes, is Thu like some MCs and Editors who humorously shared that she is only "neat above"? - Regarding clothing, we always have to be neat and dressed seriously because we take panoramic photos. For example, the news bulletins I do always require the MC to wear a skirt and a light vest, not a thick coat on screen. That’s why, on winter days when the temperature is only 13-14 degrees Celsius, the air conditioning in the studio still has to be super cold to ensure the machines operate. The MC gets goosebumps and exhales smoke, but still has to stay cheerful to calmly convey the full news to the audience. After each take, I get so cold that I jump and rub my hands to keep warm. Seeing this, everyone in the studio feels both pity and amusement.

Television, especially news, has erratic and unpredictable hours. It is normal to leave early, come home late, and not have days off or holidays.

To stick with this job for so many years, Anh Thu must have made a lot of effort? - Certainly, sticking with and developing in the role of MC, BTV requires long-term effort and commitment, along with constant self-improvement and capacity improvement. I have to invest a lot of time and effort to understand more deeply about my career, strive to improve my leadership skills, communication skills and knowledge about the profession. From my own experiences in work and life, what message does Thu want to send to everyone? - I believe that anyone of us can achieve what we want with our own perseverance, forgiveness to move forward, knowledge and life skills to broaden our understanding, and discipline to not give up.
