
The event is the opening activity for a series of programs leading up to the 10th National Buddhist Congress, scheduled to take place in December 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City - an important milestone of Vietnamese Buddhism in the process of integration and sustainable development of national culture.
Before the ceremony began, the Organizing Committee and delegates chanted Buddha's name and observed a moment of silence in memory of the passing of Most Venerable Elder Thich Tri Tinh, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's Patriarchal Council. The Venerable's monastic life is a shining example of dedication to religious and worldly affairs for generations of monks, nuns and Buddhist followers in Vietnam to follow.
Speaking at the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac, Standing Member of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, shared: "This is an important milestone, demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and connection between Vietnamese Buddhism and the literary and artistic community, joining hands to spread the good values of Buddhism in social life."

Venerable Thich Tho Lac emphasized: The movement "Enlightening the Dharma in Life" aims to create and form a heritage bank of contemporary Buddhist Art, as a cultural foundation for today and tomorrow. Through the power of art forms, the program hopes to spread Buddhism into life, so that the light of Dharma is present in every breath of life, contributing to "enlightening the Dharma in life", nurturing the soul towards goodness.
This is also a journey to awaken community creativity, nurture a generation of artists, intellectuals and Buddhists attached to Buddhism, and at the same time connect interdisciplinary and intergenerational, join hands to build the cultural heritage of contemporary Vietnamese Buddhism, accompanying the national culture. The Venerable also emphasized that the profound goal of the program is to shape the Buddhist cultural lifestyle in society, creating a community that knows how to live in harmony, love and gratitude.

The movement "Creating Buddhism in Life" encourages the creation of works with the spirit of Buddhism in many fields: literature, music , fine arts, theater, cinema, architecture, festival design, sculpture... Typical works will be displayed, performed and applied in Vietnamese Buddhist cultural festivals, contributing to building an artistic space with regional identity, in the spirit of unity in diversity.
Speaking at the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien, on behalf of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, praised the merits of the Central Cultural Committee, the Venerables, the leaders of the Associations, Institutes and all of you who have devoted yourselves to join hands in the work of "Creating religion in life", bringing love and dreams to all directions. This movement is a creative movement, but more than that, it is a cultural practice, a path of propagating the Dharma through art.

The Venerable believes that, with the intelligence, enthusiasm and creativity of the Associations, Institutes and artists, this cooperation will produce good fruits, contributing worthily to the cause of building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
This is an event of profound historical and cultural significance, representing a new development in contemporary religious thinking. This cooperation shows that Buddhism accompanies the cultural, artistic and academic world to serve people, the nation and humanity.

The program has the participation and coordination of many specialized units, such as: Vietnam Musicians Association, Vietnam Writers Association, Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Vietnam Stage Artists Association, Vietnam Architects Association, Vietnam Folk Arts Association, Institute of Ethnology and Religious Studies... This cooperation is expected to create a "contemporary Buddhist cultural heritage bank" for today and tomorrow.
Also within the framework of the event, the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha announced the establishment of the Bodhi Fragrance Club, opening a creative space for artists, intellectuals, and good-natured Buddhists, with the motto: "Creating religion in life - bringing love and dreams to all directions".
