Female vice principal suspended from work after 40 students suspected of poisoning

The female Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities was temporarily suspended from work after 40 students were suspected of being poisoned after breakfast at school.

The leader of the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune ( Quang Tri province) confirmed that they have just decided to suspend Ms. D.TTH - Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities for 15 days after 40 students were suspected of being poisoned after breakfast at school.

The suspension decision of the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune was sent to Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students to publicly announce to all parents.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 1, leaders of the Department of Education and Training, Kim Ngan Commune authorities and the Board of Directors of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities also had a meeting with all parents regarding the incident of 40 students being hospitalized after breakfast at school, along with other issues regarding boarding meals and Ms. D.THH, Vice Principal of the school.

At the meeting, most parents firmly requested that the competent authorities immediately suspend Ms. D.THH from work. At the same time, they requested that the school change the food supplier and replace the catering staff.

Parents said they were no longer assured about the food and activities at school, so they decided to let their children stay home. Many also affirmed that they had completely lost faith in the school's Board of Directors, especially the Vice Principal in charge of boarding.

Previously, on September 26, many students at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities showed symptoms of nausea and stomachache after eating cakes for breakfast at school.

After the incident, Kim Thuy commune authorities coordinated with teachers and parents to quickly take the students to the hospital. Of the 75 students with symptoms of poisoning, 40 had to be hospitalized, while the remaining 35 were monitored locally.

Regarding the incident, public opinion in Quang Tri was also stirred up by a clip of more than 40 seconds long circulating on social networks, recording the scene where Ms. D.THH - Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, allegedly prevented the student from being taken to the hospital, despite the request of medical staff. The incident became even more noisy when the clip filmed at the school's medical room spread on social networks.
