Mr. Musk, the owner of electric car maker Tesla and social network Twitter, has been competing with Mr. Arnault, the owner of French luxury brand LVMH, for the title of world's richest person for months. Mr. Arnault surpassed Mr. Musk in December 2022, when his fortune increased thanks to booming sales that helped boost LVMH's stock price. However, Mr. Arnault's fortune fell this week after LVMH's stock price fell on May 31, according to Bloomberg.
