Founded in 2017, FS is the first company in Brazil to produce bioethanol entirely from corn – a move that is different from most other factories that use sugarcane as the main raw material. Currently, FS operates three large-scale factories in Lucas do Rio Verde, Sorriso and Primavera do Leste, all located in the state of Mato Grosso – Brazil’s largest agricultural capital.

FS’s total capacity reaches 2.3 billion liters of ethanol per year, making it the fourth largest ethanol producer in Brazil. In addition to focusing on biofuels, FS also produces biomass electricity from corn by-products, and supplies DDG (a nutrient-rich by-product for the livestock industry) and corn oil for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
At the meeting, FS Vice President Daniel Lopes expressed his desire to cooperate strategically with Petrovietnam in the field of biofuel production and consumption, especially E10 gasoline, in line with Vietnam's orientation of developing clean energy and carbon neutrality.

On the side of Petrovietnam, Petrovietnam Deputy Director Le Xuan Huyen introduced to FS leaders an overview of Petrovietnam's operations, the main fields of member units in the production of biofuels, E5 gasoline, E10... as well as shared some development orientations of the Group in the future.
In the biofuel sector, PVOIL has built a E5 RON92 gasoline blending system at 11 petroleum depots nationwide, with an ethanol (E100) capacity of approximately 11,240m³. The ethanol supply is guaranteed both domestically and imported, thereby always meeting stable market demand. The consumption of E5 gasoline has been positive in recent times, contributing to promoting the use of clean fuel and expanding PVOIL's market share.

Looking forward to 2026, when the Government plans to completely replace mineral gasoline with E10 gasoline, PVOIL has piloted the sale of E10 gasoline, preparing a plan to expand blending capacity by about 800,000 m³/year, ready to ensure continuous supply for the entire system.
In addition, BSR is currently the key unit ensuring national energy security, operating Dung Quat Oil Refinery with a capacity of 6.5 million tons/year, meeting more than 30% of domestic gasoline demand. In the period of 2022 - 2025, BSR will maintain stable production, implement the project to upgrade and expand the factory, and diversify products in a green and clean direction.

In particular, BSR has restarted the Dung Quat Bio-Ethanol Plant with a capacity of 100 million liters/year, ready to import and blend E10 gasoline from 2026, and at the same time produce the first batch of internationally certified sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), supplying to Vietnam Airlines.
In addition, PVChem focuses on trading chemical products, petrochemicals, oil and gas equipment, minerals, industrial gases, etc. serving the oil and gas industry and outside. The unit is also researching energy transition projects and recycled products and biofuels.
In particular, PVChem focuses on implementing projects such as industrial gas production and trading, hydrogen peroxide production, PET chip, PP compound, biofuel, chemicals, etc., creating new development momentum in the production sector, meeting the development needs in Petrovietnam's production - service chain.
Petrovietnam Deputy Director Le Xuan Huyen hopes that through the exchange, along with the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil, the development cooperation activities in the field of biofuels and clean energy between Petrovietnam and FS will achieve many positive results, opening a new period of cooperation and mutual development.
