Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged and commended Petrovietnam for its great contributions, many years achieving 20-30% of the total state budget revenue, making an important contribution to stabilizing the macro-economy, ensuring national energy security; contributing to maintaining the lifeblood of society, contributing to protecting the security of the regime in difficult times, in the face of world political fluctuations.

In the country's development strategy for the coming years, Petrovietnam is responsible for implementing Conclusion 76 of the Politburo on strategic orientation for the development of Vietnam's oil and gas industry to 2025 and vision to 2035 and some orientations for the new period.

According to General Secretary To Lam, this is the guiding principle for Petrovietnam to shift from "resource exploitation" to "energy - industry - knowledge creation".

General Secretary To Lam also requested Petrovietnam to firmly ensure national energy security; proactively build strategic reserve capacity, regulate, supply and dispatch flexibly in association with energy security, national defense security and economic independence and autonomy.

In particular, Petrovietnam needs to be a pioneer in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; innovate governance, perfect the corporate governance model according to international practices to improve efficiency and safety; strengthen enforcement discipline, prevent loss and waste of resources.

Petrovietnam proactively integrates into the economy, participates deeply in the international energy value chain, making the group an industrial economic ambassador of Vietnam; creating conditions for private enterprises to participate deeply in the production chain, research and manufacture according to the principle of mutual benefit, mutual development and completing the goal by 2030, Petrovietnam becomes one of the 500 largest enterprises in the world.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented Petrovietnam with 8 words: Pioneer, Outstanding, Sustainable, Global. "Pioneering to lead the development of industrialization, modernization and energy transition, digital transformation, green transformation to elevate the bravery and intelligence of Vietnam. Outstanding in efficiency, enhancing competitiveness, innovation to become a typical model in state-owned enterprises. Sustainable in the vision of harmonious development between economic growth, environmental protection, social security and national responsibility. Global in aspiration, strength to reach out to the sea, positioning Vietnam in the international arena, confident in the ranks of the world's leading enterprises", said General Secretary To Lam.

According to Mr. Le Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam, Petrovietnam has mastered most of the core technologies in the oil and gas value chain at world level: from oil and gas exploration and exploitation, gas processing; to petrochemical refining, chemical synthesis to produce ammonia, urea, high molecular materials, gas turbine and steam turbine electricity production... contributing to the world's oil and gas science with technology for oil exploitation in basement rock, manufacturing self-elevating drilling rigs, graphene synthesis...

Petrovietnam has trained a team of highly qualified leaders, managers, scientists and experts, forming knowledge of the oil and gas industry, contributing to changing and improving the level of Vietnam's production force. Petrovietnam has successfully fulfilled its mission of making an important contribution to ensuring 5 security: energy security, economic security, national defense security, food security and social security.

Also according to Mr. Le Manh Hung, to develop further on the traditional oil and gas foundation, Petrovietnam has made a strategic shift, becoming a national Industry - Energy Group, opening a new era of development, combining five main fields of operation into three pillars: energy is the core; industry is the foundation; technical services are the spearhead.

"Entering a new era, along with the country's development, despite many difficulties, Petrovietnam is determined to implement its strategic goals, striving to be one of the 500 largest enterprises in the world by 2030, with strong and sustainable development," said Mr. Hung.
