Strive for 2025 growth value of agriculture, forestry and fishery to reach 2.5%

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just issued a plan to direct the organization of agricultural production to ensure the growth target in 2025 with the growth value of agriculture, forestry and fishery reaching 2.5% - 3%.

Specifically, strive for 48,800 hectares of rice; 3,500 hectares of peanuts; 10,500 hectares of cassava; 4,500 hectares of corn; and 5,000 hectares of various vegetables. The output of grain crops reaches over 290,000 tons; the area of ​​rice produced in the direction of large fields is over 11,000 hectares; 1,000 hectares of rice produced according to organic processes, natural cultivation (generally called organic rice); the area of ​​high-quality rice reaches over 80% of the cultivated area.

Convert 157.53 hectares of water-deficient, low -economic- efficiency rice land into high-value dry crop production; plant and restore long-term industrial crops on over 200 hectares; plant new fruit trees and medicinal plants on over 70 hectares.

Promote the application of unmanned equipment in plant care and pest control to over 10,000 hectares; damage caused by pests on major crops is less than 5% of output. Mobilize and effectively integrate resources, promote innovation in production organization methods to ensure disease safety, stabilize and develop livestock production.

Total buffalo herd: 21,500; cow herd: 65,000; pig herd: 265,000; poultry herd: 4.1 million; total annual output of fresh meat reaches 63,000 tons. The proportion of Zebu crossbred cows reaches over 73% of the total herd. Total aquatic product output: 37,500 tons.

Aquaculture area reached 3,200 ha. Regarding forestry, concentrated afforestation was 9,000 - 10,000 ha; scattered tree planting was 3 million trees; forest coverage rate reached 49.5%; output of timber exploitation from planted forests was 1,000,000 m3.

Implement solutions to ensure water resources for production according to plan, striving to ensure stable irrigation for about 54,000 hectares.

Through the plan, we aim to mobilize the strong participation of all levels, sectors and localities to proactively, resolutely and flexibly implement effective solutions to restructure the agricultural sector in the direction of prioritizing growth promotion, continuing to renew traditional growth drivers, and strongly promoting new growth drivers.
