(CLO) OnlyFans says it vets every user and content to keep children off the porn platform, but an investigation has found the site has hundreds of sexually explicit videos and images of minors, from toddlers to teenagers.
OnlyFans has previously stated to the public that the platform has sophisticated monitoring measures to ensure it is only accessible to adult users, as well as moderation measures to quickly remove all child sexual abuse content.
“We know the age and identity of everyone on our platform,” CEO Keily Blair said in a speech last year. “No children, no one under 18 is allowed on the platform.”

However, Reuters has documented 30 complaints in US police and court records that child sexual abuse material appeared on the site between December 2019 and June 2024. The case files cite more than 200 videos and images of child pornography, including toddlers. Many videos of minors remained on OnlyFans for more than a year.
The impact on some victims has been devastating. "After I discovered the video, I couldn't go out normally. I was always afraid that someone would recognize me," one young man told a Massachusetts court after footage of his sexual encounter with a soccer coach when he was 15 was sold on OnlyFans.
Parents expressed outrage and disbelief at the platforms’ claims. “There needs to be accountability for these platforms,” said the father of a 16-year-old boy in Kansas. He said the family’s anguish was “a wound that will never heal.”
The spokesperson said OnlyFans has “rigorous safety controls” and voluntarily reports all cases of suspected child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), a nonprofit designated by the US Congress to collect and disseminate information to law enforcement.
OnlyFans is popular among sex workers because it makes pornography safer and more profitable. Many celebrities and social media influencers boast that the platform has made them rich. The platform's 3.2 million creators typically sell explicit photos and videos for a monthly subscription fee, plus one-time payments, keeping 80% of the sales. OnlyFans takes the rest.
In addition to the 30 complaints, Reuters found 17 cases of minors allegedly having OnlyFans accounts. The accounts did not post explicit content themselves, but having a child own an account still violates OnlyFans' adults-only policy.
