Launching the 2025 press award for promoting the use of energy economically and efficiently

(CLO) On the afternoon of March 11, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the launching ceremony of the 2025 Press Award for Propaganda on Energy Saving and Efficient Use.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: Carrying out the function of disseminating and propagating the Party and State's policies and laws, acting as a bridge between the Government and the People, the Vietnam Journalists Association has recently coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the annual "Press and propaganda award on economical and efficient use of energy" and achieved many outstanding successes.

Following that success, in order to continue raising awareness and responsibility in energy use, proactively seeking the most effective energy-saving solutions, the Vietnam Journalists Association continues to accompany the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to organize the "Press and propaganda award on economical and efficient energy use in 2025".

According to journalist Nguyen Duc Loi: The award aims to propagate and popularize the Party's policies and guidelines and the State's laws and policies on economical and efficient use of energy. To commend advanced models, initiatives and effective solutions in energy saving. To contribute to raising public awareness and encouraging practical actions towards the goal of sustainable development.

“The Organizing Committee is committed to conducting the judging process in a fair, transparent, and objective manner. We will also create favorable conditions for the entries to be widely accessible to the public, contributing to spreading the message of energy saving and environmental protection,” emphasized journalist Nguyen Duc Loi.

On June 8, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Directive No. 20/CT-TTg on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years. According to the Directive, the whole country strives to save at least 2% of total electricity consumption annually. Electricity saving solutions are concentrated in public offices, households, commercial and service establishments, manufacturing enterprises and saving electricity in public lighting, lighting for advertising purposes, outdoor decoration...

Using energy economically and efficiently is one of the important pillars to ensure energy security as well as help the energy industry develop sustainably.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade hopes that this activity will create a stronger impact in the community, not only calling on the whole population to save electricity, but also including sustainable energy production activities, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, green and clean energy. Using products and equipment with high energy efficiency to improve energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects, contributing to the fastest implementation of the goal of carbon neutrality.

It is known that this year's award includes two main categories: Press Award and Video Clip Award, with a total prize value of up to 340 million VND. The organizers hope that, with the diversity of types and genres, the award will attract the participation of many authors across the country.

This year, the "Press and propaganda award on energy saving and efficiency use in 2025" is implemented according to Regulation No. 81 dated February 24, 2025.

These regulations are widely announced in the mass media, on the Vietnam Journalists Association's electronic information portal and the electronic information page of the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy.

Works participating in the Press Award category are press works published from October 31, 2024 to September 1, 2025 on mass media licensed by competent state agencies.

Works participating in the Video Clip Award category: Works produced from January 1, 2024 to September 1, 2025 with appropriate content, used for propaganda at the unit or disseminated for propaganda on any current media platform (including tiktok, zalo, fanpage, youtube, website....).
