Truck driver fined for illegally dumping garbage on the street in Ho Chi Minh City

As Thanh Nien reported, previously, security cameras recorded that at 8:49 a.m. on January 25, a truck with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate was driving on Tran Hai Phung Street, Hamlet 6A, Vinh Loc B Commune, Binh Chanh District, to illegally dump garbage.

The truck stopped on the side of the road, the person in the truck got out to observe, then opened the truck door, inside the truck was full of plastic waste. All the waste on the truck was taken off and thrown on the side of the road and the driver drove away.

Upon receiving the information, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Loc B commune directed the economic - environmental team to coordinate with the commune police to check and verify the information of the above truck. Through verification, the truck driver was Mr. LVNE (from An Giang, currently residing in Tan Phu district), and the People's Committee of Vinh Loc B commune invited Mr. E. to the headquarters to clarify.

Here, Mr. E. admitted that on the morning of January 25, he drove a truck to Hamlet 6A, Vinh Loc B Commune. While driving on Tran Hai Phung Street, he saw an empty, deserted area, so he dumped garbage. The economic-environmental team coordinated with the environmental company and Mr. E. to go to Tran Hai Phung Street to collect the garbage dumped by Mr. E. and transfer it for treatment.

Accordingly, the amount of waste is 320 kg, the cost of waste treatment is paid by Mr. E. The economic - environmental team has drawn up an administrative violation record against Mr. E. for the act of dumping ordinary solid waste under 1,000 kg in environmental protection.

The Economic - Environmental Team advised the People's Committee of Vinh Loc B commune to issue a decision to administratively fine Mr. E. VND 3.5 million and Mr. E. has complied with the fine.

Garbage bags littered on Tran Hai Phung street

According to the people, Tran Hai Phung Street, the section from Dan Sinh Bridge to Ba Tri Bridge (Binh Chanh District) was previously a dirt road. For about half a year now, the local government has upgraded and paved the road, making it more convenient for people to travel. However, some people lack awareness and secretly bring garbage, even animal carcasses, here to throw away, causing unsanitary conditions, polluting the environment, and causing frustration for residents.

The People's Committee of Vinh Loc B commune said that in the coming time, it will continue to strengthen propaganda and regularly organize general environmental sanitation campaigns in the commune in general and Tran Hai Phung street in particular. At the same time, it will assign forces to patrol, block, and promptly detect and handle cases of dumping garbage and waste in the wrong places.
