Developing key medicinal herb regions of the country

QNgTV- Quang Ngai province currently has 853 rare medicinal plant species, of which 30 species are in high demand in the market and about 25 species have been grown and widely used with high economic value. Notably, Codonopsis pilosula, Angelica sinensis, Schisandra chinensis, especially Ngoc Linh ginseng - an endemic species with outstanding value compared to other types of ginseng.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, Quang Ngai province prioritizes the development of organic agriculture associated with building regional specialty brands, with medicinal herbs as the spearhead.

The focus is on Ngoc Linh ginseng and endemic medicinal herbs to enhance economic value and affirm the local brand. The goal is to build Quang Ngai into one of the key medicinal herb regions of the country, contributing to the supply of raw materials for the domestic pharmaceutical industry and for export.

This is not only a direction suitable to natural conditions but also opens up opportunities for sustainable economic development for the Western Quang Ngai region, where most ethnic minorities live.

Developing OCOP products associated with medicinal herbs will open up opportunities for sustainable economic development for local people.
