On November 30, speaking with PLO, Mr. Khuong Thanh Long, Director of Ta Dung National Park Management Board ( Dak Nong province) said that the unit is implementing the project of eco-tourism, entertainment and resort at Ta Dung National Park until 2030.
Maximizing natural potential and protecting forests
Ta Dung National Park, Dak Som Commune, Dak Glong District, is located on the border area between Dak Nong and Lam Dong provinces. This is the geographical and biological intersection between the Southern Central Highlands and the Southeast, with important value in the conservation of endemic gene species and ecological environment protection.
With its strongly fragmented terrain, Ta Dung National Park possesses many majestic natural landscapes such as Granite waterfall, Sun waterfall, Dak Rteng stream... Ta Dung has full potential to develop ecotourism - this is also one of the important tasks of National Parks.
In particular, since the Dong Nai Hydropower Project came into operation to prevent water from accumulating, it has made more than 40 hills in the Ta Dung area (Dak Som commune, Dak Glong district) stand out as a famous landscape in Dak Nong. The blue lake surface blends with the mountains and clouds, creating a beautiful natural picture. That is why the Ta Dung area is named by the people as "Ha Long Bay in the Central Highlands".
According to Mr. Khuong Thanh Long, in June 2024, Ta Dung Lake was planned by the Government to be developed into a National Tourist Area.
To promote this potential and advantage, recently the Ta Dung National Park Management Board has coordinated with Xuan Mai Green Technology Trading Joint Stock Company to agree on a project to survey and identify potential ecotourism spots and routes in Ta Dung National Park; orient the construction of works serving ecotourism activities...
This project will be built and completed by the end of March 2025.
“Developing Ta Dung Lake into an eco-tourism and resort destination aims to attract tourism investment and mobilize local resources. From there, it contributes to more sustainable forest protection, creates jobs, and improves the lives of local people, especially ethnic minorities. At the same time, we also follow the spirit of Decree 91 that was recently issued,” said Mr. Khuong Thanh Long.
Mobilizing people to participate in forest protection
In recent times, in order to effectively carry out assigned tasks, the Ta Dung National Park Management Board has always closely followed the assigned goals, targets and tasks to direct, propagate and organize the implementation of central and local regulations.
In particular, the unit has gradually stabilized its organizational work; built and consolidated internal solidarity; improved working methods and styles; improved knowledge and skills for civil servants, public employees and workers; brought the agency into orderly operation,...
The rangers of Ta Dung National Park have made great efforts to patrol and regularly inspect hot spots of forest exploitation to promptly detect and prevent violations in the fields of forest management, protection, forest product management, and forest fire prevention and fighting.
Regarding the implementation of the forest protection and development project and the forest environmental service payment policy, the unit has deployed the assignment of forest management and protection according to the approved plan; assigned the monitoring and urging of contracted households to the forest ranger stations. Thereby, the unit has changed the method of mobilizing people to participate in forest protection, improving the effectiveness of the assignment.
Regarding financial matters, the unit will ensure full benefits for civil servants, public employees and workers working at the unit according to regulations. At the same time, the development of programs, plans, projects and schemes will ensure timely implementation; urging the implementation and acceptance of forestry projects according to regulations.
Many social security policies support people in buffer zones
According to the report of Ta Dung National Park Management Board, the unit has completed buffer zone community support for 31 villages and hamlets in Dak R'Mang and Dak Som communes, Dak Glong district, Dak Nong province and Phi Lieng, Da K'Nang, Phuc Tho, Tan Thanh, Dinh Trang Thuong communes (in Lam Dong province).
Of which, the unit has coordinated to implement 28 solar street light system projects, built 3 public works with a total cost of more than 1.2 billion VND.
Supporting the buffer zone community with practical works and projects has been carried out by the Ta Dung National Park Management Board for many years. In 2023 alone, the board also supported 26 community works for buffer zone communes to build welcome gates, solar street lighting systems, and rural road construction... with a total cost of more than 1 billion VND.
