Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc said that many medical techniques in the city have developed on par with the world, and it is necessary to focus on investing in building facilities.

On October 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health held a conference to review the leadership work in implementing political tasks and Party building work in the first 9 months of 2024 and deploy key tasks for the last 3 months of 2024.

At the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc highly appreciated the results and achievements of the city's health sector in the first 9 months of 2024.

Mr. Loc emphasized that there are five basic social services, including health care social services, which are considered social welfare for all people.

Currently, the city has invested in three gateway hospital projects including Thu Duc, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi, which are in the equipment bidding stage.

At the same time, we are implementing new hospital construction projects such as: An Binh Hospital, Facility 2, the project to build 3 blocks of Children's Hospital 1, the project of intensive treatment area of ​​Children's Hospital 2, the project of Forensic Center in Binh Chanh, the project to build a new District 12 Hospital is in the preparation stage...

Including the Gia Dinh People's Hospital and City Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology projects which are in the completion stage.

"The projects are waiting to be completed, the hospital board of directors needs to coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to promote the good implementation of public investment projects and develop the health sector," said Mr. Loc.

According to the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the current technical expertise of some medical techniques in the city is on par with the world , but currently there is only a lack of equipment. Therefore, more investment is needed in facilities and infrastructure.

In the medium-term period of 2026 - 2030, the city will continue to implement 150 projects, including new construction, medical equipment, information technology projects, infrastructure projects, etc.
