On the morning of October 4, the bronze medal match between Ly Hoang Nam and Thomas Yu was canceled. The Chinese player had health problems so he did not compete, Hoang Nam was awarded the third place win.

Ly Hoang Nam and Thomas Yu have never met at the PPA Asia Tour. In this tournament, Thomas caused a shock when he defeated No. 1 seed Eric Oncins, ranked 56th in singles at PPA USA.

Thomas Yu lost to another Vietnamese player, Phuc Huynh, in the semi-finals with a score of 0-2 (7-11, 5-11). The Chinese pickleball player is ranked 200th in singles, according to the PPA Tour.

Meanwhile, Ly Hoang Nam lost to Truong Vinh Hien in the second semi-final in a controversial manner. The match had many inside and outside shots by both players but was not convincing.

After the match, Hoang Nam and Vinh Hien continued to "exchange words". On many forums, many people criticized Truong Vinh Hien for "cheating" by catching the ball outside but when reviewing, the ball was "in".

Vinh Hien will play the final match against Phuc Huynh on the morning of October 4. This is his first time in the final of the PPA Asia Tour. The match is predicted to be in favor of the champion of Vietnam Open 2025.
