Due to the impact of storm No. 10, many key traffic routes in Lao Cai province suffered serious landslides. Of which, on National Highway 32, there were 144 positive slope landslides, with a volume of about 1,000 m 3 of soil and rock; 16 negative slope landslides about 500 m long; on provincial roads 174; 173, 175 B, Tram Tau - Bac Yen route, Van Chan - Yen Lap route, there were nearly 200 positive slope landslides with 47,000 m 3 of soil and rock. In particular, at Km 269 + 750, Khau Pha pass area, negative slope landslides completely destroyed more than 20 m of the roadbed, causing local traffic congestion for many days.

Faced with that situation, to ensure the earliest circulation of vehicles, support people's travel and direct the overcoming of natural disaster consequences, Yen Bai Road Construction Joint Stock Company I urgently mobilized all machinery, equipment and human resources, and organized continuous work day and night.
At Km 269 + 750, Khau Pha Pass area, from the morning of October 1, after grasping the landslide situation, causing traffic congestion, the Company mobilized all machines and human resources to focus on overcoming it. By 8:00 p.m. on October 3, the landslide locations at Km 269 + 750, on National Highway 32 from Nghia Lo to Mu Cang Chai were basically open to traffic.
Mr. Vu Van Hung - excavator operator of Yen Bai Road Construction Joint Stock Company I said: The flood on the night of September 30 caused many landslides and serious congestion on National Highway 32 and many other provincial roads. My colleagues and I took turns working continuously, trying our best to clear the road, creating favorable conditions for inspection teams, directing the recovery of flood consequences and meeting the travel needs of the people.
Mr. Bui Quoc Huong - Director of Road Construction Joint Stock Company I - Yen Bai said: Currently, the Company is managing nearly 300 km of road, of which National Highway 37 and National Highway 32 are 215 km long; the provincial road is 112 km located in the communes: Tram Tau, Hanh Phuc, Chan Thinh, Nghia Tam, Pung Luong and Cau Thia ward... Most of the traffic works managed by the Company mainly go through high mountains, deep ravines, complex and unstable geology and when there is heavy rain, flash floods often occur causing landslides, damaging traffic works. However, when incidents occur, especially landslides, the Company has directed officers and workers to be present at the scene to handle the situation as quickly as possible, ensuring traffic flow.

Currently, the weather is complicated, it is forecasted that in the next few days, storm No. 11 will directly affect our country, with the risk of causing heavy rain in the northern provinces, including Lao Cai. Some provincial roads are now degraded, the road surface quality is low, drainage works are not synchronized in terms of load capacity... especially the recent storm No. 10 circulation, many roads are also seriously affected.
Faced with the above situation, Yen Bai Road Construction Joint Stock Company I has established a plan to respond to natural disasters, focusing on implementing good management and regular maintenance of roads; increasing road clearing, dredging ditches, clearing sewers, filling roadsides, smoothing the road surface, installing a complete system of markers, kilometer posts, and signs.
Along with National Highway 32, the Company has prepared enough spare materials (gasoline, steel cages, boulders, etc.) for landslides on provincial roads 173, 174, 175 B, Van Chan - Yen Lap, Tram Tau - Bac Yen, Muong La - Mu Cang Chai, etc.; arranged cars, excavators, bulldozers, etc. to clear the soil and rocks, ensuring traffic circulation.

Due to unpredictable weather, heavy rain, especially at night, can easily cause landslides on the slopes. To respond to landslides, especially at key points on the Khau Pha Pass, Tu Le Commune, Yen Bai Road Construction Joint Stock Company I has arranged response teams with many excavators, loaders, and trucks on duty regularly. At the same time, coordinating with local authorities and shock forces, implementing the "4 on-site" motto to organize traffic flow if there is a traffic jam for many hours.
Mr. Bui Quoc Huong - Director of Yen Bai Road Construction Joint Stock Company I said: In the coming time, the Company will continue to proactively reserve excavators, cars and materials at key points where landslides frequently occur; invest in more equipment, improve techniques and train and improve the capacity of workers; regularly coordinate with local authorities where the route passes through, proactively patrol and promptly detect landslides and traffic jams, propose and implement landslide cleaning and road clearing quickly, safely and effectively.
