Lao Cai Ward held a meeting to discuss solutions for tourism development.

Implementing the Resolution of the 1st Lao Cai Ward Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, with the goal of welcoming 2.5 million visitors by 2030, tourism revenue reaching 3,750 billion VND, on the morning of August 12, Lao Cai Ward People's Committee held a Conference on tourism development potential in the ward, period 2025 - 2030. Lao Cai Ward has many advantages for economic development in trade, services and tourism. In the area, there is Coc Leu market, Lao Cai International border gate, international station, Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong high-speed railway is in progress, expected to start construction in December 2025.

Along with the development of urban areas, spiritual sites ranked at provincial and national levels in the area also attract a large number of visitors to visit and worship.

In addition, Lao Cai ward also has social housing projects in Son Man - Van Hoa area; social housing on Dien Bien street... Thereby, we can see the potential for socio-economic development, worthy of being the economic, cultural and foreign affairs center of Lao Cai province.

This favorable geographical location creates advantages for the ward in trade and connection to develop economy, culture and society with China, communes and wards in the province, localities located on the economic corridor with the Northeastern and Northwestern provinces as well as the Red River Delta provinces.

At the conference, representatives of agencies, professional units, training institutions, Market Management Boards... in the area spent time discussing, focusing on assessing the current situation, pointing out the current tourism potential and advantages of Lao Cai ward such as: spiritual tourism with temples: Thuong temple, Mau temple, Quan temple, Cam temple, Van Hoa temple; tourist markets, night markets..., at the same time, frankly acknowledged the limitations in exploiting, promoting and organizing tourism activities in recent times.

On that basis, the delegates proposed synchronous solutions: improving service quality, linking trade - culture - urban infrastructure development; building typical tourism products; strengthening regional linkages, expanding cooperation with organizations and businesses inside and outside the area, such as: building night street food streets, exploiting traditional dishes and local specialties; recreating the cultural market space of Lao Cai (Trang A Pao public space area), recreating the old Coc Leu market; Tieu Ha Khau culinary area; Building check-in points at the intersection of the Red River and Nam Thi River...

The conference is a practical step, demonstrating the determination of the Party Committee and the Lao Cai ward government in realizing the goal of turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector, making an important contribution to the rapid and sustainable development of the locality.
