Author Giang Son (Truong Tuan Giang) born in 1969, member of Hanoi Art Photography Association. |
Since childhood, because he often explored his father's camera, he soon became passionate and exposed to photography. During high school, he took some black and white photos for his peers. In 1986, thanks to the guidance and enthusiastic instruction of teacher Nguyen Van Phuong, he firmly entered the profession, opened a photo studio at home, and has been in the photography business ever since.
He fell in love with art photography after being invited by a friend to audit a class at the Hanoi Art Photography Club. Realizing that it suited his interests and passion, he continued to participate, learn, and become the Vice President of the Club. In 2018, he proposed to establish the Nhue Giang Photography Club, serving as President of the Club for 2 years.
He loves taking pictures of landscapes, especially the natural beauty and unique culture of the people in the Northwest highlands. This place always has an attraction, making him passionate, persistently trying many shooting angles, exploring and creating, creating satisfactory photographic works, many times "bringing Mu Cang Chai" to exhibitions. His outstanding works include: "Wax Painting", "A Glimpse of Muong Hum", "Xoè Thái", "Tay Girl", "Dream Waterfall", "Way Back", "Ban Phung Heart", "Morning Mist", "Perfect Stations"...
It is easy to see in his works the color ranges of the highlands, especially the raspberry hills of Mu Cang Chai (in Lao Chai commune, Lao Cai province), winding roads, the flood season, schools on the mountain pass, flowers blooming to announce the arrival of spring on the highlands, clouds and mountains blending beautifully like paintings; or terraced fields changing with the seasons: shimmering with water preparing for the new crop, green rice gradually turning to bronze - heavy with grain...
In the future, he said he still wants to go to the Northwest to take more photos of terraced fields and the lives of ethnic minorities there.
