Radar station 540 receives and supports people to avoid storms in Con Co special zone

On September 28, Radar Station 540 (Regiment 351, Naval Region 3) received 5 people taking shelter from the storm at the unit in Con Co special zone (Quang Tri province).

Among these 5 people are 2 medical staff and 1 household.

Immediately after receiving the people, the station's Party Committee, commanders, officers and staff promptly visited, encouraged and arranged safe accommodation for them.

The unit also supports necessities such as drinking water and personal items, and ensures food during the time people take shelter from the storm.

Officers and soldiers regularly care about and ask about each other's health, showing solidarity and mutual support during the rainy and stormy season.

To avoid the storm, the government and forces evacuated 300 Con Co residents to the basement of the special zone. The station received households with small children, the elderly, and women with poor health.

According to records, in Con Co special zone there is heavy rain and strong winds. Wind level 11-13, gust 15; sea waves 6-8m.

To respond promptly, the Naval Region 3 Command has directed agencies and units to continuously monitor and grasp the developments of storm No. 10; strictly maintain forces and means on duty, ready to handle situations; review and promptly adjust plans for natural disaster prevention, rescue and relief.

At the same time, organize reinforcement, tie down houses, stations, factories, power grids, trim tree branches, clear sewers, check lightning protection systems; move materials and equipment to higher places to avoid flooding and waterlogging; prepare plans to move and evacuate forces and vehicles away from dangerous areas; ensure adequate supplies for ships going to storm shelters and radar stations stationed in high mountains and remote islands.

At the same time, the Naval Region 3 Command has requested units to closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and functional forces in the stationed areas to be ready to deploy plans to support people's evacuation, rescue, and overcome the consequences of storms and floods when situations arise.
