The Pharmaceutical Warehouse (Logistics - Technical Department of Military Region 9) is responsible for receiving, preserving, and distributing medicines, equipment, supplies, and military medical machinery to ensure the training and combat readiness of the Military Region's Armed Forces; and taking care of the health of local people. Having held many positions, from 2020 to present, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the Head of the Pharmaceutical Warehouse.

To successfully complete the assigned tasks, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao and her unit have performed well the work of receiving, preserving, and distributing pharmaceuticals and medical supplies in accordance with technical procedures; maintaining order and ensuring quality standards in preserving drugs, chemicals, medical equipment, etc.
In particular, during the Covid-19 outbreak, comrade Thao regularly updated guidance documents from all levels for officers and soldiers on developments and measures to prevent and control the epidemic; organized the reception, preservation, and distribution of medicines, equipment, supplies, and machinery; escorted vaccines to localities for vaccination and ensured the training and combat readiness tasks of the Military Region's armed forces.
“I also proposed many initiatives and improvements in drug preservation, helping to prolong the shelf life and ensure the quality of pharmaceuticals in harsh climate conditions. During the entire campaign to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic, the Pharmaceutical Warehouse received and safely transported more than 29 million doses of various vaccines, nearly 2,000 solvent tubes and nearly 20,000 vials of treatment drugs; received and distributed nearly 70 tons of goods quickly, promptly, accurately and safely...”, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao added.

As Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Comrade Thao, together with the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Warehouse, also promoted scientific research activities. Many initiatives and technical improvements have high practical value, contributing to improving the quality of task performance. Specifically, in 2024, the unit coordinated with Military Hospital 121 and Nam Can Tho University to complete the Military Region-level scientific research project "Research on formulation and evaluation of some effects of K9 gargle solution"; coordinated with Dong Tam Snake Farm to implement the Ministry of National Defense- level project "Research on formulation and evaluation of anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects of Cobratofor cream from cobra venom"; Cordyceps mushroom cultivation model...
Not only good at her profession, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao also actively participates in and organizes many useful activities with cadres and women's union members through the movements "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", "5 yes's, 3 clean's", "Good at public affairs, good at housework", "Women advancing in science and technology", "Accompanying women in the border areas"... contributing to the completion of socio -economic development goals in localities in Military Region 9.
