In recent years, to help students develop comprehensively, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School not only focuses on fostering knowledge for students, but also focuses on improving the quality of physical education for students. In particular, improving the quality of physical education teaching is a top priority for teachers.

According to Mr. Phan Dang Thanh - physical education teacher, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, in the curriculum, the school allows students to register for elective subjects. In addition to regular school hours, the school opens its own clubs for students to register. Currently, the school has a number of sports clubs that are developing quite stably such as volleyball, badminton, chess, and Pickleball. Through participating in clubs, students can study, practice, improve their competition skills, compete in some tournaments and achieve positive results.

At Bao Thang Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, the movement of physical education and sports in schools is also increasingly developing. After school hours, students are very excited to participate in their favorite sports such as pole pushing, tug of war, jump rope, badminton, etc. Previously, the facilities of Bao Thang Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities were still difficult, students did not have playgrounds or practice grounds. From the 2024-2025 school year onwards, the school has invested in spacious and modern facilities, with a multi-purpose hall, a football field and convenient equipment and tools for students to practice.

Teacher Tran Thi Phuong Lan - Vice Principal of Bao Thang Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities said: In recent years, the school has always paid attention to physical education for students. In particular, the school has invested in facilities and teaching equipment, ensuring that students can practice to the maximum the subjects required by the Ministry of Education and Training to have the best skills and physical fitness in studying and playing.

Not only Ly Tu Trong Secondary School or Bao Thang Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minority Boarding Students, many schools in the province have paid more attention to improving the quality of Physical Education as well as the school sports movement. Thereby, it not only helps students develop comprehensively but also trains and fosters talented students to compete in high-performance sports.

Currently, most schools in the province have sports clubs. There are clubs that practice one subject, but there are also clubs that practice many subjects or traditional ethnic sports mixed with modern sports. The school sports movement has developed comprehensively from primary, secondary and high school levels, creating a healthy and useful playground for students after school hours.

Mr. To Tuan Dat - Director of Lao Cai Province Sports Training and Competition Center affirmed: The strong development of school sports movements is a premise and favorable condition for the development of high-performance sports in the province. Through the school sports movement, our staff and coaches have the opportunity to find talents to train and develop them into typical athletes of the province, participating in national, international, regional sports competitions and Phu Dong Sports Festival.

With the current development of the school physical education and sports movement, the goal of building each school into a health training center for students, as well as a cradle to discover and nurture sports talents is not difficult to achieve, as long as schools really pay attention and care.
