Quang Nam exempts tuition fees from kindergarten to high school in the 2024-2025 school year

On the afternoon of September 26, after 1 working day, the People's Council of Quang Nam province closed the 26th session of the 10th Provincial People's Council. At the session, the People's Council of Quang Nam province voted to pass 17 resolutions.

Notably, the resolution on tuition support for educational institutions and the resolution regulating support regimes for labor contracts made redundant due to administrative unit rearrangement are noteworthy.

According to the resolution on tuition support for educational institutions in the province for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years, the state budget will support 100% of tuition fees for public preschool and general education institutions in Quang Nam province.

For private educational institutions, the state budget will support at the same level as that for public educational institutions according to Resolution No. 17 of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council issued in July 2024 (For example, Resolution 17 currently stipulates that preschool students in urban areas pay 105,000 VND/month, and in rural areas 45,000 VND/month, the state will support this amount, the remaining amount will be paid by parents according to the agreement with the private school - PV).

According to calculations by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the budget to support tuition exemption and reduction for public and private schools in the province in the two school years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 is more than 158 billion VND.

Delegates voted to elect additional members of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province.

The meeting also approved a resolution on the support regime for labor contracts that are redundant due to the reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in the province in the period of 2023-2025. Accordingly, 47 people are eligible to enjoy the support mechanism with a total support budget of more than 2.19 billion VND.

The People's Council of Quang Nam province passed a Resolution amending and supplementing regulations on support levels for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Nam province in the 2023-2025 period, accordingly allocating an additional 50 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

Also at the 26th session, the 10th term People's Council of Quang Nam province elected additional positions of Provincial People's Committee members for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Director of the Department of Construction.
