More than 1,000 schools nationwide were damaged by the storm.

To date, according to initial reports from the Departments of Education and Training of several localities, storm No. 10 has caused damage to the facilities of more than 1,000 schools in several localities.

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of some localities on the impact of storm No. 10 (Bualoi), so far, fortunately, the education sector has not suffered any human losses; however, the initial damage to facilities in some localities shows the serious impact of the storm on educational institutions.

In Thua Thien Hue , 134 schools were affected, with estimated damage of about 1.1 billion VND; some low-lying schools had to temporarily close.

In Quang Tri, many schools had their roofs blown off, fences collapsed, and equipment damaged; students across the province were absent from school to ensure safety.

In Ha Tinh, 412 educational establishments were affected, with total damage of about 428.95 billion VND; students in the whole province were out of school.

In Nghe An, 483 educational establishments were affected, causing damage of nearly 300 billion VND; students in the whole province were absent from school to ensure safety.

In Thanh Hoa, 30 educational establishments were affected, damages are being counted; students have been off school since September 29.

The Ministry of Education and Training said it is continuing to direct and urge the Departments of Education and Training to update and send reports on the damage situation to the Ministry's Command Board for synthesis.

On September 30, the Ministry of Education and Training sent a report to the Prime Minister on the direction, organization, response and recovery of the consequences of storm No. 10 (Bualoi) by the education sector.

Accordingly, to minimize damage and ensure safety for students, teachers and educational facilities, the Minister of Education and Training has issued three consecutive dispatches: Dispatch No. 1595/CD-BGDDT dated September 22, 2025 on proactively responding to storm No. 9; Dispatch No. 1638/CD-BGDDT dated September 25, 2025 on strengthening response to storm No. 9 and being ready to respond to storm No. 10; Dispatch No. 1650/CD-BGDDT dated September 29, 2025 on proactively responding to storm No. 10.

The Ministry has also established an online information group with representatives of the Departments of Education and Training in the storm-affected areas to update, exchange regularly, promptly grasp the situation and give instructions. Localities have seriously implemented a 24/7 on-call regime, focusing on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 9 and proactively preparing a response plan for storm No. 10.
