Quang Ngai has been vacant for nearly half a year for the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

On July 27, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Council of Quang Ngai province announced that the Provincial People's Council will convene the 26th session in early August to carry out a number of personnel tasks.

The 26th session of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council will take place in early August.

Accordingly, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, Nguyen Cao Phuc, has just signed a decision to convene the 26th session of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, term 13, term 2021-2026, at the request of the Chief of Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council.

The meeting is expected to start at 8:00 a.m. on August 2 to carry out personnel work within its authority and consider and decide on a number of other issues (if any).

The Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council requested delegates to fully attend and proactively study documents, discuss, and give opinions on the contents presented at the meeting.

Previously, Mr. Dang Van Minh, held the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province since September 2020. On March 8, Mr. Minh was recently arrested by the Ministry of Public Security for his involvement with Phuc Son Group.

Since then, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has been "vacant" in the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

All activities of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province were assigned by the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee to Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, to operate until the competent authority completes the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
