Bustling zero-dong market in a mountainous commune in Quang Ngai

On October 3, Tu Mo Rong commune, Quang Ngai province organized the second zero-dong market to support sustainable livelihoods for the Xo Dang people.

Organizations signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in consuming agricultural products for the Xo Dang people, Tu Mo Rong commune.

Compared to the first time, the second market session continued to maintain activities to guide people to livestream to sell goods and approach customers on e-commerce platforms; arranged zero-dong booths to give away free clothes and necessities to poor households; and 18 booths and kiosks to introduce agricultural products, medicinal herbs, and local handicrafts.

The program has two new activities, including the first signing of cooperation agreements on agricultural product consumption between cooperatives and schools in the area with the Xo Dang people in 17 villages, to create stable output for products; giving 600 moon cakes to children and organizing folk games, contributing to preserving cultural identity.

Mr. Tran Quoc Huy, Chairman of Tu Mo Rong Commune People's Committee, said that the locality has implemented many activities to help people develop sustainable agricultural production models such as building nurseries to provide free seeds, developing specialty coffee, and promoting digital transformation. The second market not only helps people consume products, increase income, but also brings children a warm Mid-Autumn Festival, creating motivation to study and contribute in the future.
