On the afternoon of April 12, in Quang Ngai City, the Border Guard Commands of Quang Ngai, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh provinces reviewed the coordination work to protect sovereignty over seas, islands and sea borders in adjacent areas in 2023 and deployed coordination tasks in 2024.

The conference assessed that the sea border area between the three provinces is an important area in terms of economy , national defense and security; in particular, Ky Ha port and Dung Quat deep-water port are two important gateways for import and export of goods, and trade with domestic and foreign customers and partners.
Over the past year, the work of coordinating to protect maritime sovereignty, maintain political security and social order in border areas has always been carried out seriously, closely and effectively by the Border Guards of the three provinces.
Accordingly, the units discovered 51 foreign ships violating the sovereignty of the sea; 3 lifeboats and drones drifting into the sea. Investigated and verified 22 cases of fishing boats being prevented by foreign law enforcement forces and having their property taken; discovered and handled 171 cases/264 subjects buying, selling, transporting, and storing drugs, explosives, and illegal goods.

Along with the above results, the staff units of local Party committees and authorities propagate and mobilize people to actively work in production; proactively denounce subjects who take advantage of the border area to commit illegal activities, maintain economic, political stability and national defense and security in the border area.
The Border Guard Commands of Quang Ngai, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh agreed that in 2024 they will continue to maintain the coordination regulations and commit to more closely coordinating the implementation of border protection measures, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands and social order in the sea border areas managed by the three provinces and neighboring areas.
