Quang Tri: Funeral and burial of 12 martyrs' remains at Highway 9 National Cemetery

On July 23, at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9, Quang Tri province solemnly held a ceremony to visit, pay tribute and bury 12 martyrs' remains found by the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team (Division 968, Military Region 4) in Chua village, Hieu Giang commune.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of Military Region 4, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Quang Tri province, departments, branches and a large number of people. In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered incense, flowers, and observed a moment of silence to express their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

According to information from the Search Team, 12 remains were discovered on June 17, buried at a depth of about 1.2m, 2-3m apart, along with many relics such as personal wallets, rubber sandals, communication wires, army belts...

Speaking at the memorial service, Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Quang Tri province affirmed: "Searching for and gathering martyrs is a sacred responsibility, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source". Quang Tri will continue to promote the search, verification, and bring martyrs back to the motherland in the arms of the people".
