Collect and destroy 125 fake storks and 2,100 plastic sticks

HNN.VN - On September 20, the Southern Forest Protection Department of Hue City coordinated with the Phu Loc Commune Police, the Commune Military Command and Trung Phuoc Tuong village to launch a campaign to deal with the situation of setting traps for storks in the fields.

Collect and destroy fake stork traps and storks

During the inspection, the forces collected and destroyed 125 fake storks and about 2,100 plastic sticks (to trap storks). This activity contributes to preventing illegal hunting of wild birds, protecting biodiversity and building a safe and sustainable ecological environment.

Previously, Chairman of Phu Loc Commune People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep, directed the handling and destruction of fake stork traps. The Chairman of the Commune People's Committee requested the Commune Police force to invite those who set stork traps to work, request a commitment not to re-offend and strictly handle those who intentionally violate the law; at the same time, proactively coordinate with relevant agencies and units to strengthen patrol and inspection work in the area; promptly detect, collect and destroy fake stork traps.
