Immediately after that, the school established a working group to review the doctoral admission process in 2025. On October 9, the school met to consider the case of candidate Au Nhat Huy.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine informed that there were 31 candidates taking the doctoral entrance exam. The working group checked the documents and found that the determination of admission conditions (degrees, foreign language certificates, scientific works) was carried out in accordance with regulations.

The admission process through the proposal defense and scoring session, the approval process of admission results is conducted according to plan, with minutes of the admissions council meeting and a transparent scoring list.

Regarding the case of candidate Au Nhat Huy, through inspection, the school confirmed that the candidate was admitted according to the correct procedure, had valid documents at the time of admission and the admission score met the regulations.

Regarding the issue related to the scientific article that candidate Au Nhat Huy submitted for the exam, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine said that all scientific articles that the candidate submitted were published in journals in the List of scientific journals that are counted for points in 2025 according to Decision 26/QD-HDGSNN issued on July 11.

The articles meet the admission criteria in the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training : "Have research experience demonstrated through a master's thesis, or published scientific articles/reports" and the school's regulations: "Have research experience demonstrated through a master's thesis, or published scientific articles/reports in peer-reviewed journals".

Specifically, at the time of application, candidates submitted 8 articles, including 5 articles published in domestic journals, which are journals with 0-1 points according to the State Council of Professors' classification 2025, and 3 articles published in international journals, listed in the Scopus index at the time of publication.

The conversion score for research experience is 11 points based on the 8 papers the candidate submitted. However, the maximum score for this category is only 10 points and this 10 points is calculated into the total score, the candidate's average total score is 88.8 points.

On October 8, the school received a notice from the main author of an international article (one of the articles candidate Au Nhat Huy submitted to calculate the exam score) to withdraw the published article.

The conversion score for the candidate's research experience with the remaining 7 articles is 9.5 points. The Admissions Council unanimously reduced the average total score from 88.8 points to 88.3 points. This score does not affect the results of the doctoral entrance exam.

The report of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine once again affirmed that Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Khanh Tuong, Head of the Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine - mother of candidate Au Nhat Huy - did not participate in any activities during the postgraduate admission process this year, in accordance with the principle of eliminating conflicts of interest and ensuring compliance with regulations.
