Hojlund was forced to join Napoli on loan on deadline day of the summer transfer window, with an option to buy next year.

Previously, the Danish striker affirmed that he wanted to stay at MU and fight for his position. However, the appearance of Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo has narrowed Hojlund's chances.

In fact, the 22-year-old striker has failed to live up to expectations following his £72 million move from Atalanta.

In 95 games for the Red Devils, Hojlund scored 26 goals. Many teammates wanted him to stay, but coach Amorim decided to liquidate Hojlund.

Sharing on Ekstra Bladet, Patrick Dorgu said: "That's football. You never know when it's your turn to leave.

This happened with Eriksen, but perhaps the bigger shock was that Hojlund followed suit. I spoke to him a lot and could sense where things were going.

I'm very happy to be teammates with Christian and Rasmus. Hopefully we will see each other again every time in the Danish national team."

Napoli have agreed to pay a loan fee of £5.1m with a mandatory £38m buyout clause for Hojlund in the summer of 2026.

Although it is not desired, the Danish striker will experience the joy of playing in the Champions League, competing for the Serie A title and playing alongside former teammate Scott McTominay.
