The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said this afternoon (October 19), storm Fengshen entered the eastern sea of the northern East Sea, becoming the 12th storm in 2025.

At 4:00 p.m., the strongest wind near the storm center was level 9 (75-88 km/h), gusting to level 11. Storm No. 12 moved northwest at a speed of 20-25 km/h.

In the next 24 hours, the storm will continue to move northwest at a speed of 20-25km/h. Tomorrow, the storm will be active in the northern East Sea, about 380km east-northeast of Hoang Sa special zone, and is likely to strengthen to level 10, gusting to level 12.

The storm was then pushed by the cold air to gradually change its direction of movement to the west and then southwest. Its speed also gradually decreased to 10-15km.

The storm is forecast to peak on October 21 with a level 11 intensity, gusting to level 13, then gradually weaken.

Due to the storm's influence, the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea has strong winds of level 6-7; the area near the storm's center has strong winds of level 8-10, gusts of level 12, waves 3-5m high. The sea is very rough.

Between October 20 and 22, the northern East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone) is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 10-11, gusting to level 13, and waves of 5-7m high. The sea will be very rough.

All ships and boats operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

In particular, the interaction between cold air and storm No. 12 will cause complex weather developments./.

Storm No. 12 likely to weaken before making landfall

The simultaneous activity of storms and cold air creates many weather scenarios for our country in the coming days.

When storm number 12 moves into the East Sea, it will encounter cold air blocking the western part, making it less likely for the storm to move westward into the North or up to the Chinese region.

According to analysis, storm No. 12 will be penetrated by cold air and gradually weaken. The meteorological agency assessed that it is likely that storm No. 12 will weaken into a tropical depression before affecting the mainland of the central provinces.
