Da Nang Airport checks in with VNeID for domestic passengers flying Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet

Passengers can check in for flights without documents through Face ID authentication on the VNeID app, at Da Nang airport.

On July 18, Da Nang International Airport announced that it has implemented paperless flight procedures, through Face ID authentication on the VNeID application.

This procedure applies to passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air taking domestic flights from Da Nang International Airport. Passengers can use biometrics on the VNeID platform to complete airline procedures, replacing the previous requirement of presenting documents.

The implementation of biometric check-in procedures aims to provide a fast, convenient and safe experience for passengers.

"This is an important step in modernizing Vietnam's aviation system, while affirming Da Nang's position as one of the leading airports in applying high technology," said a representative of the unit.

Da Nang International Airport instructs passengers to use VNeID during check-in procedures in three steps.

At check-in point: Passengers open the VNeID application on their personal phones. Select Other services → Airline procedures → Online check-in and follow the on-screen instructions.

After completing online check-in, passengers continue to move to the security check area. Passengers can also check in and register facial data at check-in counters 05, 06 and counter 28.

At the security checkpoint: Passengers move to the security checkpoint area equipped with a biometric system (1 point at aisle 2 - passenger terminal T1).

Here, passengers stand in the guided position with footprints, looking directly into the camera screen for the system to perform facial recognition.

After the system successfully authenticates and opens the door, the passenger continues to move into the security screening area.

At the boarding gate: Passengers stand in a designated position, look at the camera for the system to recognize them. After successful authentication, the door will automatically open and passengers will board the plane without having to come into contact with staff.

Only applicable to passengers 14 years of age and older

To facilitate the check-in process, Da Nang International Airport recommends that passengers update their VNeID level 2 electronic identification account and ensure they are using the latest version of the application. Paperless check-in is only applicable to passengers aged 14 and over.

Passengers need to download and update the latest mobile application of Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air to support quick information confirmation. At the same time, bring valid identification documents (citizen ID, passport ...) as backup in case the biometric system has technical problems.
