On the morning of October 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Opera Theatre solemnly held the Ancestor's Death Anniversary with the participation of many leaders of departments, branches, artists, artisans and audiences who love this traditional art.
Unlike every year, this year's Theatre Industry Anniversary became even more meaningful when the theater received many valuable documents donated by the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi.
People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi is a great author, a rare talent of Southern Vietnamese Hat Boi, and one of the great trees of the country's Hat Boi art.
He devoted his whole life to the stage, not only as an artist but also as a researcher and document collector.

At the reception ceremony, Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam, the eldest son of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi, represented the family in giving the City's Hat Boi Art Theater many research documents, books, newspapers, and magazines about theater and Hat Boi art.
According to Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam, when People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi was still lucid, he wanted his documents to reach more people. Discussing this with the leadership of the Hat Boi Art Theater, the family was very happy to know that the unit was very willing to receive his valuable documents.
"The family hopes that these valuable documents will be preserved by the theater, and young actors and students will have access to them," Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam shared.
In particular, the family also hopes that the Department of Culture and Sports will have a solution to digitize all of the above documents so that they can continue to be exploited and promote their long-term value," Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam shared.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive documents from the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vinh, Director of the City's Hat Boi Art Theater, expressed his joy when the theater was trusted by the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi to hand over the valuable set of documents that artist Dinh Bang Phi spent his whole life researching and collecting.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vinh promised that the theater will carefully preserve the treasure trove of valuable documents it has received so that young actors have the opportunity to study, research, and improve their knowledge and professional skills, thereby contributing to preserving this unique traditional art form.
To celebrate Vietnam Stage Day, Tran Huu Trang Opera House has organized many programs to attract more audiences to the theater.
In addition to organizing free performances of the Cai Luong play “Spring Night Dream” for the audience, the theater also opened a workshop on “Preserving and developing Cai Luong stage art in contemporary life” gathering many directors, artists, and researchers to participate in discussions and find solutions for Cai Luong art to continue to develop in today's life.

In addition, Tran Huu Trang Opera House also organizes special art programs with outstanding performances by many famous artists.
The program aims to honor the history and quintessence of cai luong art, while at the same time arousing pride and love for traditional art in the hearts of the audience.
Sharing the joy of the Ancestor's Death Anniversary, drama stages such as Small Stage Drama Theatre, Idecaf Drama Theatre, Trinh Kim Chi Drama Theatre, Hong Van Drama Theatre, Hoang Thai Thanh Drama Theatre, Quoc Thao Drama Theatre, etc. also organized many activities to pay tribute to ancestors, creating opportunities for generations of artists to interact with each other.

In particular, all stages organized fundraising activities to support people affected by storm No. 10. This humanitarian activity helped make Vietnam Theatre Day more meaningful and warm.
People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, said that the Anniversary of the Ancestors and the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Theater is an occasion for artists to remember and pay tribute to their ancestors who created a unique and valuable theater form, enriching the national cultural identity.

This is an opportunity for artists to express their gratitude to the audience, who have always accompanied, cheered and encouraged the artists on stage and in social life.
For artists, the traditional day of the performing arts also creates a special environment, a meeting place for many generations of artists to discuss their careers and lives; a place where the younger generation of artists shows their interest and honors the careers and great contributions of veteran artists and predecessors who have worked hard to nurture the stage in particular and the country's arts in general to constantly develop.
This year's Vietnam Stage Day in Ho Chi Minh City is held in conjunction with activities summarizing 50 years of literature and art since the country's reunification. This is the first time the City has organized the Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Art Days, which took place from October 17-20 at the Youth Cultural House and several locations in the city. This year's Ancestor's Death Anniversary activities are oriented to be organized at art units, associated with performances by artists, going into depth with many activities honoring the performing arts industry.
