Heritage beauty converges in Thang Long-Hanoi Festival 2025

Performances by Dao Thuc water puppetry troupe (Thu Lam commune) are one of the highlights of the Festival.

Thang Long- Hanoi Festival 2025 will take place from October 31 to November 9 at many typical cultural locations of the capital.

The event not only honors Hanoi's cultural heritage but also contributes to bringing culture into contemporary life, spreading creative values, integration and sustainable development; promoting the role of the community, international organizations and localities across the country to spread the value of national cultural heritage; raising social awareness of cultural conservation, development and creation.
Along with that, focus on synchronous, creative and effective communication work to attract the attention of the public and domestic and international tourists.

To ensure the quality of the program, the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 268/KH-UBND dated September 30, 2025 on adjusting and supplementing a number of tasks in Plan No. 157/KH-UBND dated June 6, 2025 of the City People's Committee on organizing the "Thang Long-Hanoi Festival 2025".

Plan 268/KH-UBND clearly states that the city has decided to temporarily suspend two events of the Festival, namely the 2025 Red River International Music Festival and the Masquerade Ball - Heritage Connection.

The Festival will have a number of important highlights including: The art program "Eternal Moments" held at the Hanoi Museum, with the intention of inviting Swiss composer Dominique Barthassat to perform with Hanoi's creative community groups; "Hanoi Puppetry Festival" at the Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden; a series of activities "Heritage Convergence" at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, including traditional and contemporary music performances; a space to display traditional craft products of the three capitals (Thang Long, Hue, Hoa Lu) and the Central Highlands provinces; Introducing Hanoi's culinary culture, Experiencing handicrafts - creative designs.

The city added 15 cultural heritage performance activities in wards and communes including: Bai Bong Dance (Phu Xuyen commune), Bong Dance (Thanh Liet commune), Chu Dong Tu Festival - "Thien ha thai binh " word performance (Bat Trang commune), Tug of war at Tran Vu temple (Long Bien ward), Dao Thuc water puppetry (Thu Lam commune) ...

In addition, new activities were also added: "Thanh Tan Hanoi" painting exhibition, "Oh Hanoi" art program, "Heritage and Future" educational exhibition, water puppetry performance at Vuon Giam (Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site...

The city also assigned specific tasks to relevant departments, branches and localities to focus on performing well the assigned tasks so that the Thang Long-Hanoi Festival 2025 takes place successfully, creating a good impression on the public.
