According to the announcement from the school's Admissions Council, as of the deadline of August 4, 1,744 candidates have submitted international certificates directly and have been confirmed as valid for points. In addition, the school also received certificate data from the Ministry of Education and Training 's admissions system, thereby recording an additional 530 candidates who declared IELTS, TOEFL or SAT certificates.

However, through verification, 315 candidates did not meet the required score threshold – that is, below IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT below 80 or SAT below 1340 – so they were not awarded points for admission. In addition, 266 candidates declared their certificates but did not submit copies or provided incomplete information, making verification difficult.
To provide sufficient evidence for the additional points in the admission process, on August 1, the school created conditions for candidates to provide additional valid evidence through forms such as sending copies of certificates, providing verified accounts or submitting directly to the school. The final result was that only 264 candidates were eligible for additional points, bringing the total number of candidates eligible for additional points under this method to 2,008. See the list here.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will enroll students through four methods: considering high school graduation exam scores, combining with international certificates, direct admission, and university preparatory admission. The combined method allows candidates to add a maximum of 0.6 to 1.7 points depending on the score of the international certificate.
The transparent announcement of the list of candidates with extra points this time aims to ensure fairness in the admission process, and at the same time helps candidates have a clearer view of the verification process at top schools with strict admission standards.
