The story of Mr. Thuong and Mrs. Xuan's family (from An Lac village, Trieu Long, Quang Tri ), has become a source of inspiration for many people.
Difficulties in starting a business
In 1982, Mr. Duong Dinh Thuong (born 1955) and Mrs. Le Thi Xuan (born 1958) welcomed their first daughter. Since then, the family has continuously welcomed other members. Their youngest daughter was born in 1997.
In 1998, Mr. Thuong and his wife decided to leave Quang Tri to go to the Central Highlands to start a business, hoping for a more prosperous life.

However, life in the new land was full of challenges. “The first days were full of difficulties and hardships, but my husband and I did not get discouraged or give up.
I still remember that day, the whole family of 10 people lived in a small house of 30-40 square meters, with simple meals of pickled vegetables. We loved our children and did not forget to remind each other to try hard every day to be a support for our children," Mr. Thuong confided.
The biggest hardship revolves around the burden of making a living. However, due to the "inherited" hard work and patience of the Quang Tri people, Mr. Thuong and his wife do all kinds of manual work to make a living.
While their parents were at work, the children stayed home to help each other with their studies. All eight children understood their parents' hardships and were always obedient, well-behaved, and took care of each other.
Despite the hardship, Mr. Thuong and his wife did not forget their responsibility to raise their children. In 2008, they moved to Da Nang so that their children could have a better learning environment.
Understanding the importance of education , grandparents always put their children's education first. They try to save every penny to send their children to school. They also spend a lot of time teaching their children about morality, lifestyle, and practicing each small lesson.
Thanks to their parents' sacrifice and love, all 8 "plum wine jars" are well-behaved and good students. His children finished 12th grade and then went to university. As of 2020, all of them have completed their studies and have stable jobs.
Mr. Thuong's eight daughters are all successful.
Sweet results
Mrs. Thuong said: “In the past, my husband and I were criticized and criticized by many people because we only had one child, and they were all girls. Many other people thought that I had too many children and could not raise them to be educated properly.”
Seeing their children graduate one by one, receive their diplomas and have stable jobs, grandparents call it "a blessing from heaven".
Understanding the love and upbringing of their parents, their 8 daughters are now all successful.
Their eldest daughter, Duong Ly Ly, is currently the director of a real estate company. Their second daughter, Duong Ly Na, is a teacher. Their third daughter, Duong My Ni, works for a large company. Their fourth daughter, Duong Kim Yen, runs a fashion brand.
The fifth daughter, Duong Thi Nam, works in a bank. The sixth daughter, Duong Ha Trang, owns a fashion brand. The seventh daughter, Duong Thuy Nga, works as an assistant to her older sister. The youngest daughter, Duong Thuy Vy, works as a pharmacist.
Mr. Thuong and his wife married their daughter.
Duong Ly Na recalled: “On the day I graduated, the whole family gathered together. My parents were smiling brightly and chatting away. My sisters were also happy, and everyone kept reminding themselves to try harder.”
"I am always proud to be my parents' children. My sisters and I always tell each other to love and work hard together so as not to let our parents down. I hope our parents will always be healthy and be with us for a long time," the youngest sister Thuy Vy confided.
Currently, of the 8 children, 5 are married, giving them 10 grandchildren (4 boys, 6 girls). Whenever they have the chance, they all return to gather with their parents and visit their hometown Quang Tri.
Mr. Thuong and his wife are happy and enjoy their old age.
Mr. Thuong and his wife currently live in Da Nang, close to their 6 children, the other 2 children live and work in Gia Lai. Every year, the children take time to take their parents on vacation to strengthen family ties.
Mr. Thuong happily shared: "My children are successful, my wife and I are very satisfied. Every time we reunite, we are extremely happy to see our children care for and love each other."
