The competition has created a large technology playground where young people bring ideas and solutions to apply AI, IoT and embedded chips to solve smart logistics problems.
TheFPT Hackathon 2025 final round was held simultaneously in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, using livestream technology so that contestants could watch simultaneously at 3 locations. Ms. Pham Tuyet Hanh Ha, Head of the Academic Affairs Department of FPT University and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, said: "The convergence of universities and colleges at the competition not only brings opportunities to exchange, learn and share knowledge, but also encourages the spirit of exploring and conquering new knowledge areas together."
During the two days of competition, the teams went through 27 hours of continuous programming to develop ideas and integrate technology into their robot products to meet the requirements set by the organizers. Next, the products were put into the driving test, where the robots had to demonstrate their ability to operate in a realistic simulation environment. These challenges turned the final round into a true battle of wits, requiring solid programming skills, constant creativity and persistent team spirit from the young people.
In the final round, the teams achieved many outstanding results. In group A (for universities), representatives from FPT University won a total of 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 4 promising prizes in all 3 regions. The University of Information Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University also won 1 first prize and 1 second prize in the Ho Chi Minh City region, while the University of Technology, Danang University won the second prize in the Danang region.
In Group B for college students, in the Hanoi area, BTEC FPT British College won the First Prize; FPT International Training Institute won the Second Prize and 1 Promising Prize; FPT Polytechnic won the Third Prize and 1 Promising Prize. In the Ho Chi Minh City area, FPT Polytechnic broke through with a complete achievement including the First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize and 2 Promising Prizes. In the Da Nang area, FPT Polytechnic continued to make its mark with the First Prize, Second Prize and 2 Promising Prizes.
The first prize teams were awarded 15 million VND in cash, 10 million VND in second prize, 5 million VND in third prize and 3 million VND in prospect prize each. Notably, among the winning teams, FPT Edge-Vision team (FPT University, Hanoi) and Peter Paka team (FPT Polytechnic College, Ho Chi Minh City) were selected to participate in a special tour and experience at the VinFast automobile factory (Hai Phong) - one of the leading modern automobile and electric vehicle manufacturing centers in Vietnam.
The experiential journey is designed specifically for FPT Hackathon 2025 contestants, aiming to provide a practical perspective on production processes, automation and advanced technology. This is both a recognition of creative efforts and opens the door to practical experience for students to continue nurturing their passion for technology. FPT Edge-Vision is one of two representatives of FPT University to be awarded the Champion prize.
FPT Hackathon is a nationwide programming competition for students organized by FPT University. The competition has gone through 5 successful seasons with the following topics: Internet of Things (IoT, Make It Happen, 2018), Environment (2019), Using AI to recognize images (2021), Blockchain (2022) and Generative AI (2024). 2025 is the first time the competition is open to students at universities and colleges nationwide.
FPT Hackathon is a playground that helps nurture creative ideas, encourages the spirit of research and entrepreneurship, and creates conditions for students to develop highly applicable products, ready to bring to market. The competition is accompanied by the National Center for Supporting Creative Startups, leading technology companies such as FPT Software AI, FPT Smart Cloud and experts in the field of startups and logistics.
